Hello everyone.

I will start with a little history about myself. It may be a similar youthful story in many respects.

During my early teens before high school I discovered cannabis. This was a blessing and a curse. As I began to see things in a different light and question various accepted norms, my use started to take on a life of its own.

Through my teenage years and very early 20's I had experience with psilocybin, occasional LSD and MDMA.

When I was 23 one morning I woke up with a terrible headache. I had been drinking, and had taken LSD a few days prior. I thought, I just had a bad hang over. Although as the days wore on this headache did not go away. Days turned into months and this headache never went away. At which point I thought I was surely ill, had a brain tumor or something. After many visits to the hospital, X-ray, Cat scan, MRI, and a year and a half later. I was diagnosed with Daily chronic Migraine.

to this day, I still have this headache. I have been on various prescription medications. Some work for a time, although they peter out over time.

On a more positive note as a result of this experience. I have been through stages, first of self pitty, than anger, than a struggle back to life, and finally to a point where I am relaxed and accepting.

I originally lived in Canada. I decided to go for a vacation to Mexico in 2009. I felt the climate and the atmosphere was so relaxing, I traveled around the country for 6 months. Finally I found the Yucatan, where I put down roots and have stayed ever since.

Its funny to, as I recall when I was 16 or 17 always telling my friends I wanted to move to Mexico.

So years have gone by and I have been rebuilding my new life. I no longer smoke or drink, I live out in the wilderness and feel more in touch with my surroundings and myself. In the last 10 years or so I have consumed psylocybin on one occasion, which was a positive experience but didn't alleviate my migraine.

I have been reading about ayahuasca for years now, although never had the courage to give it a go. I have been reading various experience reports, and that some people have had relief from migraines. For some reason this year it seems to be interesting me more and more. I think I have even found mimosa tenuiflora growing wild on my property.

my apologies if this was a little unorganized.

I am grateful to everyone who has contributed so much information to these forums

thanks

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I wonder if your from LSD headache is caused by vasoconstriction.

Have you ever tried cacao? Theobromide is a natural vasodialator.

i really hope you find some relief , i know a little bit what pain life is all about as my pal suffered gout in his feet and then his knees for almost 15 years then he hurt my back really bad . . . he would encourage you . he would say you are on a great path right now . he feels even if the odd chance medicine cant help with the main pain it would certainly bring many wonderful significant benefits , you will begin to feel peace , elation , and happiness like never before .

for my pal , smoalking one large hit after two smaller of straight "dmt extract" put him in a state of terror . he did not break thru , it just seemed like physical death . for him it has become all about lo and slow - he looked into mullein / and infused herbs .

this is where folks mix raw "dmt" that is extracted , they mix this with a solvent such as 100 percent acetone , then literally 1:1 mix the liquid with mullein leaf , let that dry out .

this way one is able to reduce the amount consumed and experience light effects all the way up to the way too much feeling of 4 hits of held in infused leaf . he claims this is more medicinal type of application than the typical post 2012 internet joe rogan jester hunt / terrance mcdonalds trippy meal.

i dont want to get your hopes up but i bet you are on your way to finding something that works very well for your condition .

Hey guys thanks for the response and kind words.

TC Tryptamine - I have really only been on a pharmaceutical roller coaster for these past 15 years. Forgotten more medications than I can recall. Although I have drank a traditional Mayan cacao drink on a number of occasions. It was only as an interest in local culture and a tasty treat that has more variety than I had ever imagined. I never noticed any relief from this, although maybe if I consumed it more often that would be a better metric.

POST BALONE - Thanks again. At the moment I have decided to wean myself off the pharmaceuticals. I am currently taking Topiramate and Venlafaxina. Two medications that a very difficult to stop taking. I'm already weeks into this process, and feeling strange.

I have been reading the studies and reviews and it seems a decent number of people in similar situations have found relief from various psychedelics. Not only from pain as you say, also anxiety and depression that generally accompanies these afflictions.

I am fairly relaxed these days, that has been one of my management strategies. I have told many of my friends that this headache has been a blessing and a curse. It has taught about myself, my limits and abilities and what I wanted out of life. Although it can be very trying at times. I have to manage myself carefully, and I am always wishing I could find relief.

That said, I am interested in trying something new, and a little afraid.

I have to say you really struck home mentioning that your friends strategy has become lo and slow. For years I have said my motto is Low and Slow! It is something I picked up from when I was a Hang Gliding pilot, although many of the lessons learned as a pilot translated into life strategies. Respect, safety and staying within your comfort zone. It translates to everything we do in our life.

I hope to learn much more from these forums and I will post my experiences good or bad.

All the best.

Have you considered more microdosing (10ug) or sub-psychoactive therapeutic (50ug) dosages of LSD rather than taking larger more recreational dosages (150-500ug)? I understand you being apprehensive in light of the close proximity of your LSD experience and the original onset of these migraines, however I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the curative capacity of traditional psychedelics based upon a single subsequent uneventful psilocybin experience.

From my limited understanding, these smaller doses will not cause constriction of blood vessels which are associated with migraines because you're not putting all the associated strains of intense stimulation such as sleep deprivation, increase heart-rate, body temperature, dehydration, blood-sugar changes from not eating etc. However, behind the scenes the LSD is still blocking receptors in the brain related to the onset of migraines.

If you are continuously suffering from these migraines, I can't imagine the risks of experimenting with various regiments of sub-psychoactive or even larger psychoactive dosing. Don't be disheartened that psilocybin failed end a migraine already in progress as it's believed to treat in two ways. Yes, many experience immediate relief, however its shown to very effective in blocking them before they start. Perhaps try 50ug every 3rd day, or once a week, if you don't start seeing results then maybe increase the dosage, or if you do experience relief try spacing out and/or reducing the dosages.

I understand you were asking for advice specifically to DMT, and as I see another post recommends taking smaller dosages of DMT which can be effective as a preventative measure against migraines, its just that when considering how highly successful at relief from and prevention of migraines LSD has shown to be in studies, I worry that a single does of psilocybin is, you may be hastily dismissing a potentially effective treatment for you.

I also get your reprehension to the pharmaceutical roller-coaster, but my mum suffered incredibly severe migraines for most of my childhood until she started taking Sumatriptan (Imigran). However, yeah I avoid all pharmaceuticals beyond ibuprofen. I'm highly fortunate to not have needed a prescription that wasn't an anti-inflammatory or topical in the last decade.

I wish you all the best.

Hello gaspah.

Thanks for your suggestions. Micro dosing does sound more appealing. I just don't have enough information at the moment to answer, or make a decision what is the best approach to try first. I haven't ruled out anything at the moment.

I don't see any harm trying any of these solutions. The reports I have seen for for clusters at least, are claiming "off the top of my head" 54% to 88% efficacy with few side effects.

I really stumbled across a few reports about DMT working for Migraine, although my investigation has just begun.

In the past I had seen mention about Mushrooms and LSD being used for treatment. I guess I just was not receptive to the idea at the time. Although I am at this very moment watching a video from clusterbusters on this topic. where the speaker has claimed that a few migrainures actually accidentally aborted their migraine by absorbing psilocybin just by handling mushrooms.

I am really not to apprehensive toward pharmaceuticals. They have provided me some relief, to which I am grateful. I never tried sumatriptan due to the 24/7 nature of my migraine. The approach has always been prophylaxis.

Although unlike cluster headache suffers, I can get 80 to 90 percent relief for a short period from 800mg ibuprofen, 30mg ketorolac, or 100mg tramadol. There has been others but I keep these on hand for days when I need my wits.

Availability will be the most difficult part about trying psycadelics. DMT "and I have just learned about LSA" are easily obtainable.

I'm going to keep on investigating while I ride out the discontinuation of these 2 medications.

Thanks
