Hello everyone,

I slowly made the decision that i want to experience ayahuasca with a guide of some sort.
After my first terrifying experience alone i have too much fear doing it alone again and i think that a guide can benefit my experience quite a lot. So after searching for people and places that hold ceremonies I found many options in the netherlands. When i searched in this forum i found threads where people had negative oppinions regarding too high prices or not so great intentions.
Because i have no experience and am not really sure i would love to hear oppinions from more experienced members on what to look for to get a healing experiences with down to earth people.
Someone has a recommendation?
I would love to go where they use caapi and chacruna but i found that many use mimosa hostilis. Its probably not much of a deal or what do you think?

So every information regarding this topic is highly appreciated. Smile

I think there might be no answer because most of the people here are from the US?

I heard that the people from ayahuasca.nl do a good job, but I didn't visit them by myself.

There are also ceremonies in Spain and Portugal as well.

Regarding the prices:

Sure this is all a bit more expensive than in South-America but those are quite normal costs compared to something like a yoga seminar or similar.

I would also like to know of some personal experience from people regarding ceremonies in Europe. So lets hope someone will share some with us.

Or extract their own DMT and use it by themselves...

But would also be interested in any experiences in this relation. But AFAIR there was once a thread about this, wasn't there?
I claim not that this is the truth. As this is just what got manifested into my mind at the current position in time on this physical plane. So please feel not offended by anything I say.

I've already heard of people going to different groups in places around Europe with good as well as bad experiences. Seems there is a lot of variety in quality of the group (plus personal preferences). I dont know any specific name though.

The thing to consider is that you'll be very vulnerable and then being led by a stranger who you might or might not vibe with (and a whole group of other people). If you can meet at least the person leading the ceremony beforehand and then make a decision, that is probably way safer than just going blindly to some group you read about on the internet.

Another possibility is inviting a close friend or similar to at least be a sitter and make sure your needs are met and you are safe. It's not the same as being in a group with a guide, but can be equally life-changing, deep and positive. Find the right dosage slowly, work your way through, gaining experience in the process.

Mimosa is fine as a dmt source, though it's not traditional ayahuasca since it doesnt grow in the Amazon. You can also get some psychotria viridis or diploterys cabrerana. Just make sure to adjust dosage.

Caapi is essential to be called ayahuasca, though you could take an analogue like rue seeds (and even synth your own thh to add on top) and have a great experience too. Whatever you feel like.

Eventually you could try these different options and plants and come to your own conclusion on what you like the most.

I suggest brewing the harmala-containing plant and the dmt containing plant separately first, to find the right dosage of your harmala plant (when you can feel slight visual effects like tracers, different headspace, but not overly dizzy ), and then adding dmt slowly in subsequent sessions .

Good luck!

I've started out in group (twice) while knowing the leading person (he was Colombian) was very much OK, I knew that in advance . This gave me confidence to try on my own after those 2 sessions. I was uncertain to try first on my own so this worked out fine for me.
Because the quality was assured, those group sessions were splendid, I believe 40 persons but majority was already acquainted and they all worked in favour of a good flow. A novice could not wish for better.

While I worked solo at home, I kept also visiting another group, but here the situation was different. Smaller group, one would think better? No. The leading person was top notch but there were too many partakers first timers (50%?) and not in tune with aya and that weighted on the group vibe. I stopped that group.

I just want to say one has to have luck in finding a group where you jive well in. Things can go for better or worse. Even same group can have better or worse days. One has to have a little luck. I had sessions where I simply wanted to leave mid-course, but I could not, terrible under aya LOL.

Group can be a blessing or not, but if you make it a mission to try aya under surveillance than there's little possibilities and maybe you just have to make your best guess to choose a group and go for it, it might be terrific Thumbs up

May i recommend that you try 3 to 4 grams of dried Lemon Balm leaf tea with Aya on your own? With the Lemon Balm in the mix, the come up is smooth, relaxed, gentler, nowhere near as intense or frightening, Lemon Balm truly works wonders. Maybe take a good dose of Harmalas/Caapi/Rue, and take a low to moderate dose of the DMT-containing plant, with the 3 to 4 grams of Lemon Balm tea in the mix, and you'll do just fine, i'm pretty certain. I've gotten great feedback from others about Lemon Balm as well, it's nice to be able to flavor the experience/medicine in a favorable way and still maintain access to these deeper states and experiences without going through so much panic and such. Admixture plants help out a lot, i assure you, try the Lemon Balm, and depending on how that goes, then make your decision. You can even take high dosages of DMT with Lemon Balm in the mix and the intensity is pretty much reduced but it's still a very powerful experience, the Lemon Balm just reduces anxiety/tension/stress/panic/fear/terror and the overall intensity but not the power of the experience, so you get a much smoother come up that's not hectic/chaotic.
