I had the most incredible weekend, after extracting DMT, making changa and using numerous different plant medicines throughout my life, the time had finally come. I had met my shaman with my partner a month or so earlier, my partners mother went to his ceremonies and she had completely shifted her perception and lifestyle and it completely changed her for the better, we were so pleased, we went to meet him, on meeting him i was surprised at how humble he was and we actually had a lot in common, mostly our shared love for plant medicines and propagating them. So me and my partner both agreed we were in the area for his next ceremony, we would attend, i had been offered aya on multiple occasions but never felt like the right time, and now i know why, i couldn't have gone through a better first ceremony for me, it was like i said before incredible.
On the Friday night we had the sweat lodge, lasted about 3 hours, it was hot as hell but felt so purifying, got to know the other people attending the ceremony, also keeping on the aya diet also had me feeling very clean after this.
The next day, was a time for reflection, we all went to the Oopa (circular ceremony room, made from wood from the surrounding alien forests). I had a haupe ceremony, and it knocked me into a trance, i purged and learnt a lesson in humility and the rest of the day i spent in preparation for this evening, also fasted.
The evening came, he sounded his conch shell and we all gathered again in the Oopa, we were all a little anxious, i usually am before a transcendental experiences but this was one i held on a pedestal, the anxiety was half excitement. We all had a chance to speak about how we were feeling a little and then he started pouring the medicine. One by one we came up and drank our cup. Then he started the music. The music was amazing. Him and one other man, sang and played medicine music, icaros, throughout the evening, the most beautiful music i have ever heard. The fire was burning throughout the entire evening as well and the roof was open so you could just see the stars. After a while, he asked if anyone wanted a second cup, i was just starting to feel the ayahuasca but decided to go for the second cup, shortly after i consumed the second cup, the first one kicked it... I found myself in a deep DMT experience, not a breakthrough level but extremely powerful non the less, i tenticle-like serpents enter my mind and body and start healing and correcting, the healing aspect of the experience i found more than changa, although i have been deeper with changa. I started contemplating in the experience some of the intentions i brought with me and the new perceptions i was looking for, i saw Shiva roar down, surfing a tiger that in the end engulfed me leaving a wake of beautiful destruction in his path and experienced so many more profound visions i can't quite verbalise and then the next moment i feel the nausea, i get ready for the purge. I purge. I purge for a while. Spiders crawl out of me and into the purge bucket, cobras strike at me as i purge, i feel as if I'm purging out all of my issues, purifying myself. When i was done purging there was a huge sense of relief, and the rest of my experience was pure bliss, i felt so light and actually still do! We all spent the night sleeping in our spots in the Oopa and just like that it was over.
The next day, our Shaman helped us integrate the experience and we could all discuss the evening. Everyone ate together and we shared the joys. One thing everyone said was before the experience there was a nervousness, but once it started the music guided us and the space was held so beautifully that no-one felt any fear or anxiety in the experience, yes there was adversity, but personal challenges, the overall environment felt so incredibly safe.
And when we left, our Shaman gave us 4 Psychotria Viridis plants!
I still feel amazing and feel so much lighter and cleaner, i learnt i love taking psychedelics in a ceremonial space and can't wait to explore more with other psychedelics in a similar setting.
