Hi all,

Yesterday I've tried to extract for the first time (using Gordo's Tek) and these are the result:
[pic removed...]
Picture make it look more yellowish.

Total of ~500mg.

Question:
I've seen many people recommending on the Yocan evolve XL to use as a vaping tool
so I got myself one and using the scoop tool that came with it to load one head which is about 15-20mg
but im not totally sure since my scale is not that sensitive (I'm getting a new one).

I put it directly on the coils, press the button and took as much as I can in and hold it for about 10sec.
But other then feeling a bit dizzy nothing happen.

Since it felt quit harsh and small like burnt plastic I assume I burnt it too quickly to the 2nd
time I pressed just enough to melt it and then series of short and longer press to control the heat.

But nothing.

On top of that it seems like it ruin the coil:

What am I doing wrong?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

First off, congrats on the successful extraction, it looks great. There is definitely no problem with the spice.
I'm not sure if you've watched any of my other content, but I do show how to easily vape it (google GordoTEK). I would recommend a different approach. I can see why people want to use the battery vaporizer devices, nice to have a tidy self contained unit with simple push button electronic ignition. But when you really dig deep and read everything that people have written about electronic vaporizers - the message is very mixed. There are some people that swear by that method and say its the greatest, usually followed by an equal or greater number of people who have tried and failed with these gadgets (just like you). I think it can be pretty hit or miss, maybe if you do everything just right, have the perfect placement, hold it just right, pulse it just right, inhale at just the right speed and duration, maybe you can have success with these gadgets. In my opinion they are much better suited for cannabis smokers than DMT purists. Also just look closely at the design, you are inhaling air with lips about a centimeter from a glowing red heating element - that means raging hot vapor (smoke if you are burning it) is going straight into your throat - that can be pretty harsh and again searching comments on these devices you will find complaints along those lines.

Other downsides to these gadgets: coils go bad and you never know when its going to die on you, batteries in general suck and eventually go bad too, difficult to clean, easy to burn DMT, need to figure out exactly how to pulse it to hit the sweet spot, difficult to control dosage, can't see the vapor before inhaling, often difficult to control air flow which is especially important for sensitive lungs. In forums you often find people with positive reviews initially only to report problems after a little more use with them, or people that see a positive review, buy one, then have complaints after using it.

Some things to try - break in the coils first next time (explained here: https://youtu.be/McWjsULpvLw )
Maybe try adding a small foil cup to put the DMT in instead of putting it directly on the coils? I don't know if this would work or if it would restrict airflow or otherwise damage the coils though.
Some people say only the ceramic donut heating element works with this brand, others say forget the ceramic donut, the stainless still quartz coils work best, but both have lots of complaints Pleased

I'm seriously impressed by the level of the respond. I really appreciate it thank you.

I'm glad you approve the spice. This is very reassuring Smile

So in regard to the dab pen, I did also tried to put a piece of foil, then the spice and melt it
but that didnt seems to help much.
And I'm not sure why both of my coils head are gone and stop working now :/
Its seems like the liquid form of the spice have something to do with that.

I did watch your guide about the vaping tool and again, was really impressed by the level of details.
But I decided to try a dab pen first for the simplicity and connivance.

I ordered the donuts coils and read some more about how other people use it so hopefully that will do.
If not then I'll try your vape tool.

This seems like me trying my pulls. For anyone wondering (esp @Hendrix87 since he always asked me), this is exactly how I burned all my (GordoTek/Q1 ex.) DMT.

I use `ijustx 50w` vaporiser.

Sorry, I can't help, just wanted to post the comment and perhaps bump the thread. Also, excellent and quite detailed response, @GordoTek.
