Great job my friend!

1 year of raising and grafting seedlings and you have a forest of nice sized beautiful specimens.

Thumbs up

This is exactly why I try and show so many pictures of grafts by the way. To motivate people to graft and create their own forests.

Grafting is the easiest fastest way I know of attaining a superfluous monster collection if that is what one is after. One thing is for certain, whatever your cacti goals are... those that take a few minutes to learn how to graft are going to reach those goals much faster than those that don't.

Congrats my friend. I am one of the ones that are just at the beginning. Hopefully after one year, I will be able to post some similar pictures

Lovely pics and great work, Espurr (and friend/s)!

Is that Pereskiopsis you have there among the grafted tTrichs?

And those two, big, pupping Lophs look fantastic!

Very inspiring, I'm gearing up to get properly into grafting soon.

Heck yeah downwardsfromzero. Can't wait to see more of your grafts. You've done some great work as well.

Had to come back and check on this thread as Espurr, you really have done an amazing job in 1 years time. An awesome collection of Trichocereus that would be the envy of many in such a little bit of time is quite the accomplishment.

Suffice it to say, I look forward to more pictures from both you and downwardsfromzero. Simply amazing work from the both of you.

hello again Big grin
thanks CatPharm dreamor pete nexaal dansmatete downwardsfrom0 wakinyan machiendome
special thanks to dreamor and wakinyan and musk for teaching me throughout the year about cacti all this is the conjoined work of 2 people (me and friendo) inspired by you guys
it should also be mentioned the radical updates which originated from wakinyan revolving around the actual dynamics of cacti cultivation, and how flexible these things are
i want to specifically mention what i learned about using supersoil for cacti, grafting with parafilm, the bogponics for seedlings / mature cacti (development of water roots), increased growth of lophophoras by exposure to direct sunlight and many other things i kept hearing from other cacti cultivators "is not possible"
from the research i've done by myself, i've also added some things to the equation, every 2 watering cycles (7 to 10 days each cycle) i add 1ml bioradicant 1g fullenzyme plus 4 drops hb-101 1g humic acid (unless soil contains it) and adjust my pH to 6.4 for 1 liter of water
with all of this i still need to invest in some indoor lights, currently running 145watt LED light for the forest, and am interested in working with LEC (metal halid) lights in the future,
here are some new pictures, enjoy

thank you !
and yes, these are preskiopsis (local genetics, i see many different variations and have found some new broad leaf thicker ones im planning to replace with the ones i currently have)
grafting is key !

once again, thank you for all the tips
this may be due to my lack of a formal job and intense passion with the entheogen-light , so i do put most of my time into cultivation of these things, and to be honest i have many many plans for this cultivation route (which i will be discussing with you)
and im specially interested in methods of gene isolation, because looking at it from a wide 40 year point of view, one would like their gene pool to be of a high quality (for me, alkaloid production, growth rate and direct sun tolerance) would be ideal
so right now im in the beginning of my isolation process and will be logging it all, and i've been researching how growing cacti with most salt-form fertilizers etc and using too much substances can cause genetic mutations that are undesirable, so my concentration is on natural rooting agents for the future like humic acid + cinnamon + white willow root bark, and super soil (composted in the yard)
anyway enough talk, im enthusiastic about all this is all (hydroponics coming soon Thumbs up )

Wow, I now have a cactus hard-on. Thanks for all the cactus porn. ;-)
