It could be that you get concious about the time delay between your ears. But that's just a guess.

I wouldn't call it hallucination, rather an illusion.

Let me explain.
The sound bounces off the object. But sound don't travel so slick as light does. So theres a delay.
Now, compounded with dmt time, Which is a different time, sound echoes are everymuch as likely as light echoes and moreso to SLAY YOUR MIND.
Not everybody knows.

The brain makes predictions based on sensory input as well as stored data. The file of stored data is constantly being renewed and contains previous predictions that have been correct.
