I have been reading the threads and articles on the forum and the wiki for a few months and I am gathering supplies to undertake my first journey. I have been reading the various journey stories and extraction techniques. This adventure is becoming more and more varied and interesting to say the least. I saw it as "piercing the veil of reality" but some stories suggest it can be a "rocket fueled roller stake ride to the universal core and rubber banding back"

I become interested in the use of psychedelics and more specifically DMT, after listen to countless episodes of the JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE podcast, seeing DMT: THE SPIRIT MOLECULE and reading HEAVY LIQUID by Paul Pope.

I have been dabbling with herb blends that could be Changa, in tea and vaporizer forms with hemp or marijuana as well as lucid dreaming. I believe i have not even got close to this reality's veil.

I need guidance and advice for this undertaking, souls of the nexus; I am your humble student who yearns to learn.

I'll leave the fundamentals for another user to fill you in on and just give you my 2 cents about the whole thing. When I was younger I thought the same thing as you're thinking now, that it would 'pierce the veil of reality' and produce all these magical things. Got all hyped up by going over all I could of McKenna's work (shout out to Lorezno's Psychedelic Salon podcast!) and so on. And it is visually astounding no doubt, it feels both revelationary and nostalgic like you've been there before many times, a very shockingly different experience to our ordinary waking state.

But, for me personally, in the end it only posed more questions than it answered, and some 10 years later I now regard the experiences as both life changing and no more important than a finger on my hand. Visions are just that, visions. They don't tell you much about the screen it's projected on, or who is watching.

Go watch the film though. It's great. Just don't buy all the merchandise and wear the t-shirt every day afterwards, OK?

I have been reading the various extraction methods and trip reports; joining the community will allow me to ask questions as they come to me regarding the methods and how to go about the trip. Through experiment and experience I have noted differences in smoking, vaping, consuming. In the action effect, the onset, and the plateau of trip with various herbs and herb blends.

Do the extraction methods produce a different quality of crystal? Does that affect the intake? Does the intake method affect the action, onset and plateau of the trip?

Can you mix steps from different extraction methods?

There is the D-Limonene extraction, has anyone used pure orange essential oil in place of the D-Limonene? I have found a source for D-Limonene but Limonene itself comes from Oranges.
