http://www.youtube.com/w...dXlY&feature=relatedI couldnt eat a dolphin but I found that interesting... I love dolphins SOOO much, and orcas...been around orcas a bit in my past volunteering at an aquarium(dont anymore though cus I HATE zoos) and my dads cousin in a marine biologist who works with dolphins.. One day I want to dive with dolphins while on psilocybin..I want to go on a joint surf/dive trip to hawaii and surf warm water with the dolphins..they are the worlds best surfers! We have them here as well but you dont see them much in the cold water of the PNW..lots of orcas though! I also so love John Lilly for his dedication to these wonderful beings.. I think the cetaceans are the one species on earth that do have more developed brains than the humans..It would be wonderful if we could be more like them.. so ya just wanted to have a discussion about dolphins and whales! any other videos of personal dolphin/whale experiences would be cool.. I would also recomend John Lilly's books to anyone interested in conciousness, dolphins or metaprogramming and psychedelics. http://www.youtube.com/w...oDhg&feature=relatedLong live the unwoke.

Fractal Enchantment I really love this thread, I have always had a deep connection with the sea ever since i was a little girl as my dad and quite a few of my family members are surfers. I'm Cancerian as well, which i think adds to my connection with the sea. I love all sea creatures very much, for me whales are very close to my heart because i had a whale come to me in a dream one night and speak to me. The whale told me that they are suffering and they need my help, in the morning i woke up all sweaty and with tears rolling down my cheeks as I was really worried about what the whale had told me in my dream. In the newspaper that morning I saw that there was an article about a lot of whales that were greatly harmed. So for me the whale is my spirit animal so to speak. Another personal whale story of mine is that I used to listen to recordings of whales singing and memorize the pitches and noises that the whales would make. Than when i was under water pretty much anywhere, under the waves, in my pool and in my bath water i would try to sing my own whales songs as best that i could. I would focus on the tone of the sound as well as the different vibrations that the whales would create and than do my best to mimic them. I have sang many a whale song in my life. I'm such a geek sorry man. Also when i was sailing i saw whales and dolphins all the time and its so breath taking and beautiful how they celebrate the mornings by jumping out of the water, spraying, and calling to one another it used to bring tears to my eyes while i was at the helm. It would truly make the long 3 hour shift at sunrise all worth it, i would always take the 3am to 6am shift just so that i could watch the sunrise and the whales, dolphins and bird life celebrate the start of a brand new day. These are some of my personal whale and dolphin stories. :b Much Peace and Sunshine

I like all the ayahuasca art with the dolphins and mermaids..mermaids are cool. I feel so bad about how humans treat the dolphins, especially in Japan and some other places..sharks as well actaully. Anyone who has spent time around whales or dolphins can feel the amazing connections they have with humans..they are are brothers and sisters on a very special level becasue they have such a developed intelligence..one day I hope we can live in a society that accpets the ceteceans as beings with just as much worth and rights as us.. Personally i think we sould be insorperating them into our political discussions on a very serious level..it cannot be denied anymore that they are capable of communicating with us and hold a level of intelligence that is AT LEAST on par with us..WE are the ones destroying the oceans they live on and the planet that supports those oceans..what we do effects them and they deserve a say. While NASA looks to the stars for other intelligence they forget about the ones right here, our brothers and sisters. Makes me want to cry. I absolutily hate the way they treat them. It's just as bad as the time of plantations and black slaves, the inquisition and all the other human rights attrocitites committed throughout history. The thing is the dolphins cannot come onto land and do anything about it..they need us. And personally I think we need them..to show us the way to live in harmony..they sure have that down. This may sound odd to some but go spend some time around ceteceans and you will know what I mean. Long live the unwoke.

I must say I was not impressed with a out of shape guy feeding his face during the interview. This guy is suppose to be a spiritual person of some type? In the 1960s, Gold worked as a jazz musician, composer, and as a photographer for Tiger Beat magazine. His photos of Harry Nilsson were used by RCA for album covers. He edited Mod Teen Magazine in the 1960s. He also worked as a continuity writer for the Bob Crane radio Teen mag editor? I just cant see John Lilly hanging with this cat. Maybe his huge gut and talking with his mouth full gave me a bad impression of him. PEACE MV

Yeah he kind of acts like he is eating dolphin. There is also a fish called dolphin mahi mahi very tasty indeed. I could not bring myself to eat the mammal dolphin at less I was starving. Who knows maybe Lilly was hanging with this guy. After Lilly finished at the University he would go meet up with his buddy when he gets off work at "Teen Beat" mag and they would go talk science and philosophy. PEACE MV

Then I immediately went to the John C. Lilly website, to find something new to read from one of the sections I've never delved into. Then I come back here to see this thread. Ha. I'd like to recommend reading Chapter 15 of John Lilly's book, 'The Dyadic Cyclone'. -go to http://www.johnclilly.com/-click 'Cetacean Nation' -click 'E.T's from Earth' -scroll down, click 'Searching for Evidence of Extraterrestrial Beings' -scroll alllll the way down, click 'Chapter 15 - The Dolphins Revisited' I would just link to it, but there's no difference in the web address between the homepage and any other page on the site. And it's waaay too long to post here. The chapter speaks about the sophistication of cetacean communications and their degree of intelligence and sensitivity. I find it a fascinating read, and intend to read more. "Within your heart is a lotus, and within this lotus is a diamond. This diamond is the source of creation, and in all the creation, there is only one lotus."

I think its sad that in many ways we have cut off communication between different groups of whales by blasting sonar throughout the ocean for nuclear submarines to cruise around. This loud sonar can burst their eardrums and confuse groups of travelling whales.
Technological improvements can help stop this but so could ending the policy of continiously being ready to launch nuclear weapons at any given time.

I remember reading a number of years ago ( and this could be totally incorrect, just something I remember reading a few years back) that dolphin brains are very, very similar to human brains, almost identical. One big difference being that the dolphin brain is not split into two halves like ours is. Plus they use up to 100% of it when awake & only 50% while sleeping...as apposed to our 13-15% usage while fully awake & thinking hard. Any truth to that? Sounds cool...but almost too cool. Like I said, it really was a while ago, so I could be remembering this incorrectly too, but it is something that has fascinated me since I read it. Also, how about the Octopus for an awesome, super intelligent water dweller!! Octopus's have always seemed very, very alien to me & they definitely have a sentient intelligence that goes waaaaaaay beyond simple survival skills!! There was an aquarium I think it was either in Seattle, or Portland Oregon, that had a tall, circular Octopus tank, in the middle of a "touch room". Where there where clams, snails, & other shellfish in short tanks, where kids could reach over the top & touch, or hold them...& check em out. So they noticed that they were loosing shellfish from the tanks...then figured out it was happening at night. So they set up a surveillance camera in the room & watched as the octopus was picking the lock on the door at the top of his aquarium...climbing out of the water & down the outside of the aquarium...grabbing only one or two "snacks" from the "touch tanks"...hiding the empty shells!!!...then climbing back into his aquarium & locking him self back in!!!! Hows that for intelligence?!?!?! Only taking a few shellfish per night, when it would have been just as easy to eat all of them the first night...but blow his cover. Plus Hiding the evidence & locking himself back in!! Have you ever seen an octopus out of the water? They look like a blob of jelly with eyes flopping along. That's a cool animal! WS All posts are fictional short stories depicting the adventures of WSaged!! None of these events have actually happened and any resemblance to any real persons or incidents is totally coincidence!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes certain certain species of dolphions and all whales I think do have more advanced brains than humans. I read somewhere a while ago about how they prove this. Dolphin and whale brains are able to model the human brain..for this to be so the brain has be large enough and advanced enough to model our brains..but also have a portion left over to run that model..that is the simplified version but it's interesting..If I remember correctly they have proven this using computers. Also the level of intelligence of the brain has something to do with the ammount of muscles in the neck of the cetacean compared to the weight of the brain..becasue the brains are so big and weigh so much that there has to be a certain ratio of muscle in the necks of these whales and dolphins to stop the neck rolling back and forth so fast that the neck breaks..They punch these ratios into a computer I guess and get an estimate of brain capacity or something along those lines..interesting stuff. Long live the unwoke.

Yes I also saw the sneaky octopus crawl out of its tank get its meal and return. The prehistoric ancestors of the octopus could crawl out of the water and wait on land for many hours for prey to come by. Imagine a octopus popping up from the undergrowth on land and SNATCH. Back on topic Dolphins: The Wild Side (for some rape and kidnapping is a way of life much like humans indeed) http://www.snagfilms.com.../dolphins_the_wild_side/
