Forgive me for assuming, but do you happen to live in an area where full-strength Everclear is legal to buy?

I ask because I live in an area that only allows for 75℅ alcohol Everclear, which is, of course, utter B.S., so I am always curious about what is legally available to others when someone posts such an elegant, simple and easy-to-understand idea.

Yeah this is 95% (190). I probably should have specified that. I didn't realize they made 75% Everclear. Being able to walk in a store and purchase it here is normal. We used this to make jello shots for party's in high school. Glad you liked the pictorial. I don't know if 75% would work but as long as it evaporates I don't see why it wouldn't.

In any case in most civilized countries we can just walk in a pharmacy and buy 90 or 96% pharma grade ethanol. It's used for aromatics, soaps, homeopathic remedies, diluting pharmaceuticals and more. I don't even say what it for... they don't ask. Significantly cheaper than high proof alcohol in this country as well.

Doc Buxin try looking for SPIRYTUS REKTYFIKOWANY or just SPIRYTUS. It is a Polish export that many ethnic American liquor stores and markets carry for religious reasons. It is 196 proof. so pure grain alcohol. Look for the stores that carry Polish or Russian products and you will probably find a bottle. In California Everclear is only able to be sold at 152 proof, but I can find SPIRYTUS at 196 proof at many places for around $21 a 750ml bottle. Great for extracting Cannabis goodies.

Well, you can't get much more of a stupid, corrupt, nanny-state government than California's government. Don't even get me started on how terrible this state is governed...

When I was in high school (when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth) we used to be able to purchase regular, 190 proof Everclear in California (they rarely even asked for I.D. back then, lol) and rather than jello shots, me and my rock'n'roll-band buddies used to blow fire with it for extra entertainment at the parties we would play at (like Gene Simmons in KISS). The kids always loved that trick. However, I cannot condone nor endorse anyone trying such a thing as it is highly dangerous and stupid to do so, but hey, we were teenagers in the 70's/80's, what can I say?

Doc Buxin Hope you are able to find some. We used to get the Everclear from Nevada, that sold the high proof stuff until around 10 years ago, then apparently some law changed, because they only carried the Everclear 152 after that. I've also found "lab grade" solvent ethanol for sale on some of the Cannabis growers and extractors websites. Those are usually more expensive per gallon than that you can buy at a good liquor store or ethnic market. It is funny how many different Spirytus bottle labels and designs I have seen over the years for what is basically the same exact product.

ETERNAL I forgot to say thanks for your tutorial and pix. Might have to try this some time. The only difference in the various proof amounts for "vodka" or neutral spirits is water. There is more water and less ethanol in the 152 proof Everclear than the 196 proof Everclear. Same as when you buy 80 proof Vodka, more water and less ethanol than the 100 proof or the 152 proof stuff. Since water evaporates quickly any proof vodka should be fine, the higher proofs just have a lot more solvent power to them. For extractions it is always best to find the highest proof and least amount of water.

I just use a Yocan Evolve plus with the QDC. I have a Yocan Pandon with temp functions as well but I haven't gotten around to using it yet.

Spiritus is like $80 a bottle here ($70 sin tax), but you can still buy pharma grade ethanol in almost any pharmacy if you ask at the prescription counter for $20 a litre. Though it's not well known.

I can't believe all the different things that we used to purchase at stores as teenagers back in the late 70's/early 80's that these days, going into any store and asking for said items gets me a puzzled look and a "that stuff has been illegal for a long time sir...sorry to inform you".

That's whats funny about what IS. We are just dream characters man. There is only this ISness. Everything is one. There is nothing to get or understand. The idea of there being something separate from everything to understand is illusory and complete nonsense. Some are awake and some are not, but there are NO separate people to be awake anyway. Only in the dream. When I tell people they don't exist, they either think i'm kidding or i'm crazy, but what they don't realize is THEY are not the one doing the thinking. Who is there to think? This ISness understands its non dual nature and can awaken itself whenever it wants. It never needed doing. I used to think I had an obligation to tell people we are one because of an intense spiritual experience I had. When I experienced a non dual awakening I realized that anything that I experience as a person is illusory, including the metaphysical, spiritual experiences of oneness and love. That's still dreaming. There is no "we" or 'i' only THIS presence,awareness,consciousness. When you experience a non dual awakening it is a shift in perspective. You are no longer seeing and experiencing as a self. That's when it all comes together. It's like the dreamer awakening from the dream to remember its non dual nature and that the dream character was a conceptual idea. The truth is that NO thoughts ARE real. We all use DMT and other psychedelics as if they are a catalyst to realize the truth in search of it, but there ARE no catalysts. There is NOTHING to search for and there is no seeker nor anyone to "enlighten". There is no DMT, separate entities, aliens, elves, science, dna, atoms,energy etc. There are no separate people, things, time or space. This is all dreaming in duality. Everything is empty of separateness. Its funny to me now looking back on it all. Like I said, If you understand what IS, things are just as they are. If you don't understand what IS, things are just as they are. The dream goes on. You are still a character in the dream you are just aware of it. What we are is nothing more than a string of thoughts. A list of conceptual ideas linked together by the thinking mind like my favorite color, the kind of car I choose to drive, what food I like, clothes i wear, what my values are and what I believe. There are no opposing forces to interact with anything else because everything is empty of separateness. The idea that what I like, value or believe has any effect on the nature of my life or holds any meaning in life is illusory. Anyway, I'm glad you guys enjoyed my pictorial. I'm almost done making a "How to use a wax pen for dummies" pictorial. I'll post it later tonight. ha ha
