This is not going to be a question but an observation from my side.
I am in the learning phase and i am browsing this forum a lot and i often read people saying their crystals are redissolving while trying to dry and they do not know why is it happening.
One assumption came on my mind after taking a look at my evaporation dish many minutes after i had scrapped off the DMT: I think many people do mistake and misread the instructions. So after precipitation, after pouring off the naphta they leave the crystals on the dish and dont scrape off. They do not scrape off and dry on a different dish but they try to dry on the precipitation dish. And thats a big mistake because the dish is cold and ambient temrperature is much higher so water is condensating on the surface of dish thus melting the crystals leading to failure.
One must do the drying on a separate dish.
maybe i am missing something, since i am beginner only but i might be right about people who get melting crystals-while they describe their process they do not mention that they had scraped off the crystals onto a different dish for drying.
Just wanted to share my thoughts on this.
have a nice day
