I read about some of the different types of Caapi in the "Cielo/Yellow?" thread (linked below):
https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=14197

Related to changa, would it be advisable to start with white (which sounds like the gentlest introduction), yellow, cielo, or something else? My goal is to get acquainted with caapi/DMT, and I would like to have the breakthrough experience, however want to take the time to explore this. I am also more interested in the more spiritual, enlightenment, and self-exploration side of things than anything else.

I highly recommend looking into Peganum Harmala ( Syrian Rue ) seeds if you plan on extracting only. Getting used to pull harmaloids from rue should provide plenty extraction experience and a good grasp of the process behind isolating its active compounds. The overall yields in rue are more decent than in Caapi and the seeds are more available and more reliable to start with.

However I also recommend meeting Caapi too as you get more experienced with processing plant material. Being more rare these days to find nice yielding batches of it and requirng more prep time, a lot of people that use Caapi will say they save this one for brewing. It’s a good attitude towards it as the brews will always deliver something more than the extracts, although adding it in changa is something special too.

Variety wise I’d go for yellow or red.

Have fun exploring!

Thanks for the recommendation. For extracting from Syrian Rue for changa (as opposed to tea or use on its own), would a simple boiling extraction be advisable, or should I do the more intensive Tao of Rue extraction linked below?
https://wiki.dmt-nexus.m...he_Tao_of_Rue_Extraction

Also, are there any other ingredients that work particularly well (or don't) with Syrian Rue? I was thinking of the following for the recipe based off of one I believe I found on here:

* Acacia acuminata - extracted
* mullein for the base
* Syrian Rue (in place of caapi extract)
* extraction of lavender or lemongrass

Any reason to change the recipe if I use the Syrian Rue in lieu of the caapi?

I’d definitely say go for The Tao of Rue and aim for the freebase harmalas as this is the form that’s best suited for vaping/smoking purposes.

As far as admixture goes, caution on some herbs should be taken. I’d keep sweet wood away, gingko, ginseng, st. john’s wort to name a few. Ofcourse these are not necessarily meant to be used in changa blends, but it’s worth knowing. Basically avoiding herbs that raise blood pressure, act as stimulants, depressants, opioids etc. The more neutral and non psychoactive the better for the actual blend. Other than dmt + harmalas, interaction should be kept at minimum.
Some nice additions i’ve found until now were mint(the many types and varieties), lemon balm, lapacho, but my favourite one until now, also the best for this purpose, must be the leaves of B. Caapi.

Your recipe looks good too. Make sure to use mullein leaf and not flower/seed pods. The flavour infusion of lavender or lemongrass should be tested beforehand to not produce a smoke that’s too harsh on the throat and to get a feeling on how much to add, to obtain a balanced mix with the blend.

Had a question of my own about Caapi. Saw this thread at the top of the page and thought I'd just post it on this thread.

We have a 50g aya mix of Caapi vine and Chaliponga sitting. The intention was originally to make changa with what we have left of our last batch of DMT, but we've been sitting on it for months and simply can't find the time and opportunity to make it up. (Not everyone can use their kitchen as a place to blend illegal substances)

I've read a couple suggestions for smoking Caapi in a joint or bong.
Was thinking of trying this on it's own, to see what it is like and also as a preparation for a DMT hit.

How would you recommend smoking it, how much do you need to smoke?
Would you throw some of the chaliponga in there?

I've seen people recommend it but never mention specifics

A bong/bubbler/pipe (glass preferable) works perfect. You could even roll joints if none of the aforementioned gear is on hand. Regarding qtty, just pack a bowl and see how it feels, smoke more if you like it. There’s no overdoing the leaf since it only deposits small amounts of alkaloid, in the 0.3% range more or less. Though very light on actives, for some indviduals the leaves do seem to work in prolonging the vaped/smoked tryptamine experience. Some might claim that via smoked ROA, with absorbtion happening faster (through the lungs and into the bloodstream), the microgrammes range dosage provided by a bowl of Caapi leaf works just as good as the isolated harmalas added to a changa blend. While i tend to disagree ( but not entirely) i do think that these afirmations are viable to some extent..

In conclusion, i’d say you can go ahead and try the leaf with no fear as the strength doesn’t even come near to the actual isolate and, in such small amounts, it won’t remain active in the body for a long time either.

You could try smoking it prior, toghether with dmt via sandwitch method, during the trip, after and so on. Try different methods and see what works best for you.

As for the Chali, my advice is to save it for a brew. It tends to burn with difficulty as oposed to Caapi, which has its leaf thin, soft and tasty, Chali is not so tasty and does not pack even near enough actives for an interraction using this route imo. In brews, on the orher hand, it can be very very special and that’s where it shines the most i think.

Follow-up question: would it matter what form of acacia I use for this? The options I have are acacia acuminata (phyllodes) or acacia confusa (big bark chunks from mature trees). Both are from sustainable sources, and it would either be blended with a B. Caapi 20x extract or Syrian Rue extract.

I checked the search function and did not find anything that specific to the two, however figured I would ask.
