Ayahuasca is obviously more intense and longer lasting than freebase, and I've researched it for about a month now and I feel I'm about ready for my first brew!
I've seen lots of brews that call for about 10g MHRB and 3-5g syrian rue, my main questions are:

Do I need to check the Ph for it to work?

Is there a simple brew for a noob like myself?

Will just the MHRB and Syrian Rue be okay or do I need other herbs?

I've been off all medications for months and I think I'm ready I just need a bit of help from someone who's experienced and what better place to ask for help than the nexus!😁

Thanks!

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

The best thing to with these two: CWE for the MHRB - cover with water put in fridge for 24 hours then strain and filter. With syrian rue just simple boil it with some lemon juice into a tea then consume it 30min before the CWE Mimosa and with the dosages you talking about voila!Smile

I dont think you should be brewing your own ayahuasca. only an experienced shaman in the brazilian jungles can use this sacred brew...Neutral

Isn't the point of the Nexus to inform and educate the DIY "shaman"??

Study the Ayahuasca threads, then settle on a basic approach and practice a bit.

A few hints. Extracted harmalas are simple to use. Ground rue seeds work but a bit harsh. If using powdered MHRB, ACRB or Chaliponga even a single simmer with ample water will suffice. A bit(tablespoon) of white vinegar does seem to favor the DMT "salt" into solution. No need to measure pH.
REMEMBER...filter THEN reduce!

Harmala dosing can be tricky. For home brewers, a split harmala dosing regimen does seem useful. Say 1/2 @20min prior to "light" and 1/2 with "light" brew.

Brew on Grasshopper. Assume the role of auto-didact and auto-shaman. Return to consensus reality AND the Nexus with "medium sized fish"(a la T McKenna) that we can all do something with!!

Peace

Care to elaborate on why shamans can use this and we can't? Aren't we all living "under the same roof"? Do you think it belongs more to some than others? What about computers? ... they were developed in the modernized world... does this mean only we, the civilized part of the world, are allowed to use them for informational/creative/laborious purposes and everybody else not? Think about it from a different perspective for a bit... don't you think you're limiting yourself and advising others to do so as well?

The dmt-nexus is not the place where people get sent into the amazon to find the meaning behind these things (sure it can be nice to visit for the various attractions if you can afford it... i heard the Vatican is nice too Rolling eyes ) , as well as you won't see many here in cues for a Sunday's meet up with "G" at church. It's just silly..

This place is a vast encyclopedia of, about and around the subject of "know how tryptamines and betacarbolines". Open source. Here we all know or are in the process of knowing/finding out.

Good luck learning to you too... and to everybody else, to the vast majority, the more you find out the better.Thumbs up

Hey friend,

Please check the FAQ for more info on brewing ayahuasca:

https://wiki.dmt-nexus.m...lis_.2F_syrian_rue.29.3F

Also very importantly, check the proper dosage https://www.dmt-nexus.me...p;m=11514&#post11514

Please do NOT take 10g mimosa, that will be waaaay too much. Start with at most 3g.

Also, not to nitpick but, if it doesn't contain caapi vine, it's not ayahuasca, it's an analogue. You can still get an equally deep experience this way, but I just want to point out that the name ayahuasca directly refers to the vine. You're fine with rue if you don't have vine though.

Good luck!

I understand what your saying, but I also disagree. I feel that if I put my love, time and effort into a brew (even if it's an analogue) I will have a beautiful experience. And even if it doesn't work out well I'm still very happy to have the knowledge and the experience!
Peace and love to you!

We are all Shamans. No one is more special than anyone else!

I thought that, then I met a shaman and realized and I no longer believe this to be true in any way.
I believe we are esoteric kitchen chemists.

The shaman I met is in his 60's been doing it for 30ish years and has an MD and a gorgeous voice though.

I do believe Pharma is just fine though for personal use.. I do believe people can follow instructions and make Aya.. I just don't believe that is what a shaman is.. To me it's like saying that qualifies someone to be a priest because they know how to pour wine.

It really depends on how you view this stuff.. are you communicating with a plant and getting lessons? Or are you extracting plants to cause a chemical reaction. I think this has to do with mindset.

In the end I can have a beautiful experience by myself.. I just feel like I can "take the whole thing" when I am with what I consider to a be a "shaman" as he has an MD and seems to know when people need to get pulled out of their own head for a bit.

It's about personal preference though, the other thing I've done aya 15sh times and pharma 5-6. I never get to hyperspace on pharma, but I do get a great night talking to the atman. Always nice to know what your greater self is thinking. Very therapeutic very eye opening, and usually you agree as it is you that is trying to change your mind on something. Smile

As far as the original post : you are starting a journey, it will take you as seriously as you take it. Make sure you feel "completed" on any tasks before you begin, it will help keep your mind off of the mundane while under. Also, for personal risk reasons, remove anything from your house you would get in trouble for. It's way too hard to think about that properly if you are on a full dose.

Find a trip sitter who can just "be around" incase you need help with cleaning up or getting out of it for a few. In general they should not partake in conversations with you nor is it like an lsd trip sitter. They need to leave you be unless you really need help. As "you" are who you need to talk to. Mainly to help with more water, puke buckets, tissue paper, changing music etc.

I usually do MAOI way before DMT. This allows me to make sure that if there are any MAOI reactions I can handle them while semi-sober.

Everyone with a hand can paint, but not every painting will be recognized as a product of skill.

As for ayahuasca (analogue) dosage: I would recommend to lean heavy on the harmala side and start with only a bit of dmt.

So like 5g syrian rue and maybe 5g MHRB?

The potency can vary to a dangerous extent with MHRB...

The best is to brew up at least 100g at a time so the potency of that batch is homogenized.

Can reduce it so that 1 tsp or 1 tablepoon = 2.5 grams

Then you can store it in tiny 1/4 pint jars in the freezer and only defrost what you need when you need it...

Start with 3g worth then slowly work up. Sometimes you need 10g for a full ride, sometimes 5g will be so strong you regret it for a long time... Every batch is different, even from the same vendor.

Thumbs up

That's a really good idea.. I was worried if I kept "tea" around that it might mold over time, but you figured that out too.. +1!

Has 0 to do with idols and everything to do with safety and harm reduction. A medical degree isn't an illusion.
