People on here often discuss their settings and equipment, and the degree of ritual and reverence could even be described as fetishistic.

We often see threads about DMT pipes themselves, but I've never seen pictures of people's 'launchpads'. So I thought it would be cool if we took pictures of these launchpads, arranged as if ready for launch, and then submitted them here along with a little description to go with them.

(Of course, makes sure there isn't anything in the picture giving away your identity, like a picture frame of you or an open passport in the background!!) Laughing

'Ohayoco's dreamer's launchpad'

"I bought this chair for £60 at a flea market. I was told that it is 1970s and made by a Dutch manufacturer. The label says 'Montis'. I love it because two people can get in it, so you can hold the pipe for your friend when they travel. In the corner is my little glass pipe that I bought specifically for smoking DMT. The larger one is a recent addition, a birthday present, that I have only used to smoke passionflower with DMT enhanced leaf so far. The balti dish was a present from my father, which was once used for curries but is now used to burn copal, palo santo or frankincense on the hob before launch. The armchair is on top of a Shipibo-Conibo dyed cotton textile. I have become the universe itself in this chair."

SWIM still has his childhood sleeping bag which is only slightly too small, and he usually just spreads that out on the floor or in an armchair, depending on which room he does it in. He has a strong affinity for the versatility and simplicity of doing things on the floor (making music, for instance)--a primitive impulse, I suppose. He's developed sort of an animistic regard for that sleeping bag, and it's quite comfortable and warm, to boot, so it's an ideal launchpad for SWIM.

SWIM does like the idea of developing a more ornate setting, though. Especially in terms of hosting for others. Like shamanistic or psychonautical feng shui?

Amor- yes the preparation of the space is a real part of the ritual for that dreamer, he thinks it's almost like creating your very own shrine, with you yourself seated in the middle filled with divinity, rather than a buddha or other idol.

Thanks Antrocles! I have a much nicer one on the wall, people trip out looking at it even when sober! There are little men and baby entities in my wallhanging for sure, and it seems to bend when you look at it. People can immediately tell it's psychedelic, even though they have no idea of what it is and don't see it as recognisably 'hippy psychedelic art'.

I wanna see some more launchpads! A picture is worth a thousand words! Laughing

SET AND SETTING my fine brethren and sistren Pleased ..... SET AND SETTING....

here's where I launch from. in the first pic you see the actual "pad". Cool

in the second you see my fine collection of "ignition buttons" (including the new glass VG which, in my humble opinion is AWESOME!!) there's also the mighty hurricane water pipe with hash oil attachment wrapped in a shipibo tapestry and beads, my nepalese hash pipe surrounded by Buddhas, my antique opium dragon i recently got in Thailand and a beautiful "alice in wonderland" pipe made by a friend...

in the third pic you can see my main co-pilot Buddah and his ever-growing philadendron crown Smile also- if you look off into the corner you can see my little collection of cacti. i got a couple pedros and a lophophora williamsii hanging out together discussing secrets they plan to share with me one day.... Pleased

i also figured i'd snap one of the place i communicate with my wonderful nexus family from (complete with shipibo keyboard cover).

see there ohayoco- told ya i'd throw down some pics Very happy

LOVE AND GRATITUDE!!

That is just fantastic!

Do you find it better sitting in that chair as appose to a normal chair, looks like it would be very comfortable, and yes SET AND SETTING! Smile

that chair (to completely throw my metrosexuality out there) is from italy and it is about as comfy as a chair could dream of being.... i have grown more and more accustomed to being reclined way back like that, although i still like to have the occasional "upright" ride...i like to do those with my back against that liquid amber tree i was talking about...

other "launchpads" i enjoy:

my bed

my bathtub

the roof of my garage.... actually, had one of my most beautiful journeys here....sun was coming up and i was facing it....took a breakthrough inhale and slowly laid back onto a towel. the sun directly overhead became a beautiful bird that contained the universe in it's wings....i always KNEW that sun was more than it appeared... Pleased

let's see some more launchpads folks! what a wonderful thread concept...

So I finaly got around to taking a few snaps.

The launchpad "string" is something I dont often use, I tend to move around the house, but of lately I find on the floor leaning against my bed is the perfect spot.
