Guys, can someone tell me what the weight difference should be between the salt and the FB of 5meo? If I have 100mg of salt and I convert to FB what should I be ending up with?

I've tried 2 conversion techniques - both involve making paste with sodium carb and water and then drying. Then I either:

1. do 3 IPA pulls and evap

2. mix with water and filter to remove excess sodium carb.

I'm getting 50 -55% of the original weight. Can't be right.

Thanks for the help.

5-MeO-DMT = 218.30 g/mol
HCl = 36.46 g/mol

5-MeO-DMT HCl = 254.76 g/mol = 218.3 + 36.46

218.3/254.76 = 0.85688491128

Max yield is 85,6mg from 100mg

Given the fact that your starting amount is tiny mechanical losses will be extreme.

Also did you ever try to google? You dont need to ask here when you just spend 5 mins on google.

IIRC theres exactly the same question on the forum and i already replied there too.

Thanks for the reply. Point taken. I did see it on google but it was on a different forum and I trust a response on here.

Interesting re the mechanical losses. I wonder if it is that.

In another thread on here - https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=30524

there's a reply there where someone converted 50mg HCL and got 40mg FB. That's a really tiny amount with no apparent loss.

Careful use of glassware of a minimum size will help to minimize losses.

Good luck and godspeed!

The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Working with small volumes is tricky.
Every inch of wetted glass will catch some 5 meo.
You need to always add some solvent to the used jars and beakers and swish it around and add it to the batch so you catch most of it.
