I'm wanting to grow a dmt containg plant but none I've researched seem promising in my situation. I'm in hardiness zone 7a. My yard is extremely small and directly beneath it's soil are the entire root system of a large tree that is no longer there.

I've not found anything yet that would do well in my climate. Even if I found something, it would be impossible for me to get those roots dug up.

Growing inside might work but the climate indoors is still not suitable for anything I've found.

From what I understand p viridis would need a humidifier and heat source which I would need to run constantly. That could get expensive. Im not sure what heat source is recommended?

I'm thinking now about growing an acacia tree instead. I saw a topic where people were growing them indoors without a heater or humidifier. Those are a maybe.

There are some dmt sources that grow in my zone but they contain neurotoxins. I would like to avoid those.

Any ideas?

IMHO while this is surely a nice project, if you like plants, it probably isn't a project to get some reasonable amounts of DMT. Growing trees indoors usually results in Bonsai-like growth as the roots are extremely limited, unless you got really space indoors...

But that is just my opinion, derived from experiences trying to grow trees indoors.

I think you're talking about Phalaris? There this is not really a problem. As has been shown in the Phalaris thread, it seems pretty simple to separate the Gramine from the DMT. But it definitely needs more work than other sources. But e.g. in the climate I am in, it seems the only option for outside. The Arundinaceas are extremely resistant against cold. Or you grow some annual Phalaris every year, like Brachystachys.

But so far my observation is, that once they got some proper roots outside, they grow very strong and fast, no comparison to a yearly seeded plant. That also wouldn't surprise me, as they make roots as deep as 10 feet...and can so start every year already with a fully developed root structure.
I claim not that this is the truth. As this is just what got manifested into my mind at the current position in time on this physical plane. So please feel not offended by anything I say.

Yeah, phalaris is really a good way to become self-sufficient in colder climates and even if you grow them in large pots, you can still harvest enough material to do some extractions frequently. If it is possible try to avoid wild phalaris species or those grown from seeds but rather get a clone of the big-medicine strain or any other known and analysed source.
Once I did some extraction from "picta"-phalaris that was given to me and the tryp resulted in a heavy 5-MeO-bodyload. Working with known substrains allows you to know where you will go.
Arthur Dee was one of the greatest alchemists of all time, not likely to his dad, I forgot his name, this small James Bond sorcerer working for the queen of a... Hail Arthur!
