Hello everybody,

I am 40 years young male, with a life long interest in anthropology and ancient cultures and about 15 years interest in psychedelics. In 2011-2012 I lived for 6 months with the Shuar tribes in the Amazon jungle doing the dietas and natema ceremonies, an experience that completely transformed me as a human being. After another few years necessary to integrate and apply all these teachings in my life, I am finally somehow settled down and coming back to explore the infinite dimensions that these wonderful medicines allow us access to.

In the last month I had a few experiences with changa and preparing myself to "commune" with the freebase molecule.

Thank you all for creating and maintaining this space, I have been browsing for a while now and sometimes can´t believe the amount of information and the atmosphere on this forum. I realize there´s a lot to learn and a lot of priceless experiences shared in this vault.

PS: English is my third language and sometimes I might express myself weirdly, but hopefully my twisted sense of humour will always allow for a decently coherent syntax.

Thank you for having me here!

Welcome to the Nexus.

Are those natema ceremonies comparable to ayahuasca ceremonies with the exception that the brew only contains Caapi? If so, can you tell us about some typical experiences?

What changa mixture did you smoke?

All the best.

Hi, @strtman :

Natema is just another name for Ayahuasca (that´s how the Shuar people call it mainly).
Some of the variants are quite strong and intense, for example I had twice been served a variety called Java Natem, which they give only to hunting dogs to make them fearless and it was a very weird and wild experience.

Apart from that, snorting huge amounts of liquid tobacco and ingesting Datura whilst on a very strict diet account for most people (even natives) being put off in the very early stages. I went through because at the time I was probably quite desperate and didnt had much to lose or leave behind.

I could go through some of the experiences I had but maybe I am not skilled enough with words to make them sound too coherent. For these people the medicine is mostly about power and not necessarily about knowledge, and they still have wars between them and also face a lot of challenges from the mining and petrol exploiting companies, whilst trying to survive in a very challenging environment. It is not at all like the peace&love ceremonial music circles that go around in Europe or conventional ayahuasca retreats.

I have no ideea about what is in my changa, I managed to get some from a guy that doesnt seem to know much about it or is not willing to go into details. But it felt "right" every time so I am willing to continue...

Thank you!

Welcome Gilliatt Smile

A great introduction and very interesting. Curious on how your changa experience will turn out, definitely interested in a report, given what you've experienced prior

Nice to have you <3

Thanks for having me here.

Until my GVG arrives think I´ll experiment with mixing some freebase into e-juice, I have 3 DNA devices which are quite accurate temp wise and will report back as soon as I have consistent results. Learning a lot these days and feeling enthusiastic about coming back to this world, as my last aya encounter was in Nov 2014, long time ago but feels like yesterday.

As I am quite a patient and methodic explorer, it will take some time, but hope to post some decent report soon.
