It is well known that harmine changes auditory perception. For me, various hums in the environment become more salient. For hours the vibrations of the ventilation shaft in my room would intrude upon my awareness when normally they would be entirely filtered out. This effect does not seems to apply to all background noise, though.
It also changes music. I suppose the subjective feeling is that the music is simply faster, but it also appears different in other ways that I do no know how to describe. I wonder if someone who's into music knows and knows more about sounds could describe the effects in more detail.
I used to have an assumption that something that makes music faster necessarily slows down the speed of perception (and therefore things that proceeded at a normal pace now appear to proceed at an accelerated pace) but outside of music I have sense at all of being slow with harmine. In fact, my reaction time actually decreases with it.

I just ingested 160 mg of harmine.HCl, I hope your post won't give me a strong placebo effect  How much harmine did you take to get the effects you describe? I am still about to figure out proper dosage for salted DMT and shrooms.

That should be enough. There was once a time when, for some reason, I could detect no effects from harmalas myself. But once I did note differences, they manifested themselves in domains others had mentioned: music, visual clarity, motor coordination.

Harmalas auditory effects are most present for me when i smoke it.. the way i would describe it is enhanced hearing or everything gets louder, i can hear tones that i can't hear without the harmalas and they seem to be coming from far away or like background sounds, also some sounds like cars or voices are stretched out.. of course this means that music would be altered too, i prefer to enjoy the calmness and emptiness it brings to my mind. It deepens music for me especially when combined with cannabis It's also resulted in interesting audio hallucinations for me. Particularly of big cats

Ayahuasca has really profound effects on sound & enhancement of music for about 3 hours. It not only magnifies and enhances the beauty of music, but produces audio hallucinations as well, sounds and music all sound very different from normal. The 1st 90 minutes are the strongest.
