Hello all, I got some fresh acacia confusa root bark, I followed ThickLights tek to do my first ever attempt at DMT extraction.

I used approximately 100 grams of the shredded bark. The acacia soup was dark brownish after boiling, and after the caustic soda was added, it became a pretty dark, almost completely black liquid. Once I added the naphtha it became reddish, kinda purple, dark red.

While I was shaking the soup with solvent, a big layer of foam formed on top of the liquid, which would disappear leaving some sediments right in between the solvent and the liquid below it. I was never able to obtain a milky, not even slightly whitish naphtha, but after a few pulls i decided to keep things for a while in case anything formed from the naphtha.

This little glass container you see here is a leftover from other mason jars i was using for the pulls, for some reason i left this little container as u see it in the pic, with some soup and the some naphtha, and the next day it was pretty much the same, just that the brownish fluffy-looking sediment was a bit bigger.

Since on this second day i saw neither crystals or anything else forming from any of my jars or this little container, i was about to throw everything away except that i decided to put this glass container in the freezer. After one day i opened the freezer and saw white clouds had formed on top of this purple soup, floating around in the naphtha, this white clouds seemed crystal-like, as white dandelions, some stuck on the sides, some on top of the purple soup, and which after taking them out and letting them dry looked like this


Any idea as to what this white stuff is, did i succeed or fail in the extraction?
Getting this white crystal-like stuff from the freezer was exciting but I have no idea what it really is since my naphtha was never milky, always clear, and putting this little container in the freezer was not according to the tek instructions.

Am thinking of trying n smoking this stuff yet im a bit worried i'd be smoking just caustic soda or somethin

I'm the least knowledgeable person around to try to answer your questions, so I will stand corrected when the intelligent folk get back to the forum and take the wheel for you.

But I'd give you two words of advice.

One - and I'm quite confident here - don't throw anything away, make sure you keep it all.

Two - and this I'm less confident, but why not be safe rather than sorry - I'd probably wait to 'test' your product, until you hear from those who know. (And don't forget to thank them - for everything.)

Anyway, I suggest patience, and I'm glad you have found your way here to the nexus.

hey dude so it looks like you did manage to get some xtals which is good

but i think from reading that you are expecting the dmt to form inside of the naptha which is not exactly correct

what you want to do is pull off your naptha layer without getting any of that brown stuff put this dmt soaked naptha into a glass container and then stick it in the freezer for 24 hrs after that most of the dmt should have crashed out of the naptha and will be stuck to the sides and bottom of your container

at this point you want to carefully pour off the liquid into another container saving it for future use. the crystals should have stayed behind on the original container used in the freezing step, let them air dry for 12+ hrs at which point you can scrape them up and bio assay

another thing you want to separate the naptha from the purple soup before putting in the freezer to avoid getting any contamination

if you have anything that is brown crystals or powder you can clean it by dissolving in warm naptha then letting is settle for half an hour then decant of the liquid from the top leaving behind any sediment/impurities

The pics look like spice and is very unlikely to be NaOH. What does it smell like? If you take a small amount and apply flame, what happens to it,how does the smoke smell?

That said, as said above, you did not actually follow TLs tek. First off, there should have been several acid boils done with bark material, each one filtered and reduced prior to basing. Also, yes the nps should be removed being extremely careful not to pull any purple soup.

You may want to look into clean up and 're-x procedures. If you don't want to do the boils and filter job, cybs tek is a good way to go.

Imo cyb's tek is the way to go very straight forward easy and everything is easy found at the grocery store and hardware store

it also has amazing Re-X procedure to clean your spice

i applied flame to it and it immediately turned into a crystal clear liquid, which didn't completely solidified when cold, but rather turned into a gooey clear substance, except for some brown stains that came from the darker powder.

The smell is pretty hard to describe, at first it came out a bit sweet, but after i kept the flame for a long time it smelled kinda metallic and the gooey substance kinda popped. A bit of whitish smoke came out but very little.

I will try to clean it after I check out cybs tek, and see what changes.

For me cybs is the only tek i use. Everything is pretty easy to understand and the clean up is great. Don't toss the stuff ya have hold on to everything, you should be able salvage it.
Just make sure you read through the teks well many times, maybe try to visualize the steps. If a question pops up there's always many knowledgeable people to give advise.
