I have a meth pipe that I'm going to use to freebase DMT. I had no trouble launching with a short straight MJ pipe with a steel mesh to hold the DMT. I've read some people have trouble with freebase pipes though. I've been considering using a heat gun to vaporize the DMT. Has anyone tried this?

When I get more DMT, I'll give it a shot and report back! I have a digital heat gun with a settable thermometer and I'll try to start at 250F and work my way up from there.

Vaporizing is just heating something to its boiling point and inhaling it when it becomes a gas, so... anything that can accomplish that should work. I use a light bulb and it works just fine.

ive done this... it works but is awkward, and the hits are super hot if you arent most careful.

i ended up attatching it to a downstem to a bong and ripping it hard that way. yes, a most effective method, however its a bit obnoxious to hear that thing revving as you enter hyperspace and also if you dont turn it off before youre blasted, it can be a serious fire/health hazard.

Oh and I just use a regular lighter.

This would work, but as Mew said; the smoke will be very hot and harsh and can be a potential hazard. Make sure to put it down on a wet cloth or paper towel to cool it down.

I think I'm going to give a candle a shot. I won't be putting the flame directly to the glass, but using the hot air coming up off of it. I'll also have a sitter anytime I use DMT again.

Candle works but can sometimes put off weird toxic fumes...

I would try to make sure it is an "all natural" candle of somekind first.

I tried 20mg in the meth pipe today. HOT and HARSH!! Damn it's not a good.

I only put in 20mg and didn't even clear it. I just wanted to test a new batch of dmt for purity.

I'm going to give a candle or something a shot later. A lighter is just too hot and hard to use. I'm considering getting a piece of tubing to attach. maybe 1-2 feet long? don't want to make it harder.

If your vapor is hot and harsh, either the quality of your DMT is low, or you are burning your material. When I use oil burners(meth pipe) I also use torch lighters, and hold the flame far away from the bulb. When you star inhaling, slowly, your material should start vaporizing effectively, and you can put the torch lighter down at this point. Vaporizing DMT properly in oil burners isn't that easy, most people I see do it, burn their spice, but after a few tries it becomes quite easy.

Well I've got some shopping to do tomorrow! I've gotta find a torch lighter. I only tried it once with a small amount. I just preloaded 50mg and I'm going to wait for some quiet and give it a shot with a normal lighter in the manor you described.

I think I was pulling too hard and I was waiting for it to start vaporizing before I started pulling. I hope I don't have to build a machine after getting this oil burner (vocabulary ftw!!!)

I don't get this thread. You say you were doing fine with a standard mj pipe..so why even bother with the meth pipe? Those things are just horrible for vaporizing dmt for so many reasons. This has been covered countless times in many threads

i would just forget the meth pipe. make some changa. get a bong or vapor genie.. and just use that. Changa in a standard mj pipe works fine to if you do it right, as you seem to have done. All of the above work way better than a meth pipe. its a waste of time/dmt IMO

The MJ pipe is gone. I had a freakout and threw it away because I was trying to use DMT casually. I've read many many people who have no problem using an oil burner effectively (30-40mg doses). I don't like using steel mesh because the mesh I have burns too easily. If I had something with a higher temp then maybe I would get another pipe.

I have a vapor genie, but I'm unwilling to pollute it with DMT. I'm sure I would never get it all out.

I'm more interested in learning how to use this pipe. I have ~2g of dmt right now and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to want any for a long time after this stuff is gone. I think it might be too much already. I might gift some to a friend. I can't justify another vapor genie or the like.

EDIT: also, this is a different composition of DMT. This is a little more cakey. it compacts easy. I melted it in the pipe and let it dry, but instead of staying fluid looking, it recrystalized to little chunks stuck to the pipe. weird.

Why in the world does changa not interest you? And you can indeed vape changa.. So not sure what you meant there

Why are you using a meth pipe when you already have a vapor genie? Have you looked around on the forum much? The vapor genie is definitely one of the best devices for dmt or changa. It's raved about more than any other device here, and contrary to what you think it is very efficient with dmt- plus pretty easy to clean and if any melts through you can recover it. If you do it right virtually none will melt through

What would I vape changa in? another pipe? I did not have, nor wish to buy, another pipe.

I have read plenty. I knew the vapor genie was the #1 recommended platform before joining!

I never said it wasn't efficient.

All that said, I went to a smoke shop today to get a torch lighter and they sold cheap vaporgenie-like bowls for $25!! It isn't the best quality. The ceramic has much larger holes than a vaporgenie, but it does seem to do the job! I am going to give some a shot tonight.

Please report back about his cheap VG knock off. I want details too. Where can I get it, who makes it, photos, all of that.

well the taste and smell of changa in a vg is really nothing like freebase in a meth pipe. it doesn't wreak..i use mine for both marijuana and changa and it works fine, you don't even notice it. but anyways, looks like you're now set with the new piece

Chanaga smells like ass in a can IMO but DAM! it good so easy no fucking about and different flowers slightly change the visuals for me and manipulate the DMT

Must admit i love a freebase pipe aswell, just overload it put like 50mg in there and whirl away with a standard lighter always remember to rotate the bowl in your hands while heating never let the heat sit in one place and dont let the flame touch the glass flame should be 1" away , and if you got the lung you can get there in 1-2 hits ....am i weird i like the taste!!!!!!
