How did I ever miss this thread?
Has anyone ever tried Damiana tea to aid with sleep?

I'm only asking because it's all I have to hand and this is the 3rd day in a row where I'm still awake and everyone else is waking up!

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

You don't really need this shit, try having a cold shower 1 hour before you wish to knock yourself out. A massive surge of adrenaline followed by an all body warmth as you dry off followed by being in the land of nod as soosn as your head hits the pillow. The next day you wake up nice and fresh.

Funnily enough I find that a low dose of oral DMT during the day will send you into a refreshing sleep at night and you wake up crisp and clear. Of course you can't exactly do that everyday.

Passionflower is also a very good sleep aid in the right quantities.
It amplifies the effects of melatonin.

The combination of passionflower and melatonin is one of the best remedies for sleeplesness since it not only works very well, but unlike most other substances that work this well, you don't devellop tolerance to it, it's not addictive and it has no after effects like a hangover or drowsyness in the morning.

Many other sleep aids also prevent deep REM-sleep. Especially alcohol, and benzodiazepines that many people use as sleep-aid have this effect.

Alcohol and valium are both (as far as i know) GABA-agonists so this could very well aply to other GABA-agonists like L-theanine as well.

I am a severe insomniac and use a variety of things.
Making hops into a tea is somewhat weak but does the job. Vaporizing hops with a little bit of kief, will KNOCK you out.
Valerian root tea, tastes weird to me, leaves a weird aftertaste, man I dream crazy though.
Passionflower tea, one of my favorites, works very effectively.
Wild dagga tea, puts you to sleep, gives you some dreams, tastes foul for a while, gives you an intresting mood lift.

A lot of people like Passionflower for this purpose. It's relatively weak in effects but strong enough to really make a difference if you can’t sleep. It doesn't mess up your dreams like some herbs can, and it doesn't leave you with a lingering effect the following day, at least not for me.

Melatonin works for me too but I can always feel slight sedative effects from it the following day which I hate so I rarely ever use it.
You may remember me as 69Ron. I was suspended years ago for selling bunk products under false pretenses. I try to sneak back from time to time under different names, but unfortunately, the moderators of the DMT-Nexus are infinitely smarter than I am.

If you see me at the waterpark, please say hello. I'll be the delusional 50 something in the American flag Speedo, oiling up his monster guns while responding to imaginary requests for selfies from invisible teenage girls.

Are we taalking pasiflora incanarta here? Or is think effect an attribute of a few pasiflora species?

A cold shower before bed is not a good idea for me. My body is very well tuned to associations and showering is my morning ritual. At the moment my number 1 sleeping aid is getting out of bed and lying on the couch to the sounds of late night TV. Puts me straight out. But I like sleeping in my bed. It's better for your neck Smile

I have drank it before bed a few times and it didn't keep me up though that is for sure.
