What happens if I leave DMT in acidic water too long? Options

I’ve recentrly tried to extract DMT with the poor man’s tek, but i cant evaporate the water quickly because it’s cold, will something happen if i leave the dmt in it too long?

Nothing, although there's a risk of it gathering dust.

To be fair, if left for a year or more it will oxidise and discolour, first yellow then orange, brown and finally black. This has been observed with fumarate crystals, although the black goo occurred with freebase from evaporating isopropanol.
