I plan to extract some more DMT in the near future. So I thought about how to approach it and came up with this idea.

1.) A water extraction with shredded MHRB and citric acid.
2.) Reduce water to a small amount.
3.) Basify with sodium carbonate to make a paste with the small amount of citric acid water extract.
4.) Dry the paste and obtain a powdery substance.
5.) Extract the DMT freebase with acetone.
6.) Evaporate the acetone to obtain DMT freebase.

Is there anything I'm missing in my approach or is there a step I could could improve ?

Acetone will pull much more than just your freebase.

Also obtaining powdery substance may be pretty hard in both steps 4.) and 6.) - you can easily get goop instead. This stuff is impossible to dry out in a reasonable time, plus you deal with oils.

But you can still do FASA then.

What else would it pull ? Fats, other alkaloids ? I suppose nothing problematic.
Regarding getting goop in step 4 I don't really mind - unless if it would prove to be hardly soluble in acetone.
Regarding getting goop in the 6th step I also don't mind.
