What's the deal?

When I look through oral dmt recipes, all I see is cook chacruna and vien together in one pot, but cook rue and mimosa/acacia separately "tO gIvE tHe MaOi TiMe To WoRk"????

Smile hello, it's not a must, many ppl also cook and apply chacruna and vine seperately.... but its not traditional.

The reason (for this & the vinegar) appears to be: to use min. raw material and avoid loosing it in sudden pre-mature purges, making it moar effective (vinegar) since we typically do not have tons of source materials availiable...simmering happily in 10 gallon cauldrons for repeated 2nd & 3rd helpings.....

This seems far less common, even in the Western world....

Thanks for the insight Big grin

There is nothing in caapi+chacruna or rue+mimosa that would explain why they need to be brewed differently. Probably just different people writing different recipes/methods.

My suspicion is that this convention is strongly linked to the practice of ingesting capsules of powdered rue seeds. Because the dissolution of the capsules and the digestion of the rue seed takes some time, a delay before ingesting mimosa tea would be necessary in order to prevent the breakdown od dmt by the body's mao enzymes.

However, when ingesting rue tea, concentrate or purified extracts, these delays usually do more harm than good. Free harmala alkaloids are taken up very rapidly, much more rapidly than dmt I believe. Indeed when not actually ingesting encapsulated rue seeds, it is best to always let the harmala solution accompany the dmt soltution, just like in traditional brews. The same applies when ingesting encapsulated pure dmt with pure harmalas, together they must go.

For the paranoid who worry about ensuring optimum mao inhibition, a pre-dose of rue alkaloids at T - 15 minutes can optionally be employed before ingesting the actual workload cocktail of maoi and dmt.

The ingestion of raw rue seeds seems to be a relic of ancient lore from days gone by a long time ago. Archaic practice that is unfortunately still being disseminated by sites like erowid. Last time I looked at that site for information on growing peyotes, I was surprised and appalled that most useful info presented on that topic was more than 20 years old.

Even when using encapsulated purified Harmala or Rue extracts, i still separate my Harmalas and DMT about 30 minutes apart. I want gut MAO-A to be fully inhibited so that DMT will be fully orally active. Sometimes i've even waited an hour after my purified Harmala/Rue extract to drink my Acacia teas, and it still worked pretty well. I think if you wait too long it won't work that well, so like an hour and a half for me would be too long of a wait, but i'd recommend the plants to be at least 15 minutes apart. I have noticed a few times before that Harmala-containing teas seem to be absorbed quicker than capsules (even though capsules are usually dissolved within 5 to 10 minutes), i guess liquid just hits quicker and thus has a shorter timing window so i'd say wait about 10 to 20 minutes, whereas with capsules i'd say wait about 30 minutes, but that's just me personally, i've always gotten good results that way. I much prefer to separate the two plants so that i can fully activate the DMT-containing plant. I haven't really tried taking the plants at the same time yet, just because separating the plants works so well for me and is always active given that the dosages are good.
