I'm new to dmt, i've been reading for the past 2 months about the molecule and fell in love with it.
swim likes chemistry and psychedelics so swim has to give dmt a shot. As swim is a cautious person and had a few questions he couldn't find a concrete answer for, swim hopes he can count on your help.

Swim red different tek's and liked vortex' stb tek. So first swim wants to prepare a 500ml NaOH solution.
Swim calculated that to make 0.316M NaOH (ph should be 13.5) he has to mix +-6.5g NaOH with 500mL H2O.

Can some1 correct him if wrong and are there practical issues with it?
How much solution should swim use for 25g shredded mimosa? "1/4 root bark powder (when wet) to 3/4 basified
water" vortex' tek.
Can swim use a shotgun pipe for dmt or should he make the machine.

500ml water + 50-60g lye should give a high enough ph (12.5+) to basify the acidic water solution.
It doesn't need to be at 13.5 to freebase all the DMT.
I don't know about calculating moles, but I just use cyb's max ion tek and it works fine.
A ph meter or papers will make it a lot easier if you are aiming for a specific ph.
There are teks for all different amounts as well, if you are not a chemistry buff.

Swim should swim a "machine" swim for swimming swim.
Swim through the teks and do some more swimsearch and you will be fine.

Which ratio of MHRB:Lye:Water is the best?
For STBs, 1g MHRB:1g Lye:15ml Water is generally accepted as a good ratio. People have had success with significantly less water, but 15ml per g bark is a recommended amount because less than that might make the whole mixture too thick and it can make the separation of the solvent more difficult. Also, one actually needs much less lye but this amount of lye helps prevent emulsions forming as well helps break down the plant material so that dmt is more exposed to the water.
Alternatively, one can just add enough lye for the solution to turn completely black, and go ahead and extract. If emulsions form, add more lye. One does not need to worry about over-basifying, there's no such thing. Excess lye will stay behind in the water layer once you separate the solvent in any case.

You need to use way more to neutralise the acid from acidification and also the bark acids and oils.
Also generally more is better for dmt extraction.
Your calculation is slightly wrong too.
Use these to make more correct calculations

Mass molarity calc
50-60g for 500ml is good enough.
Moar is better than less in this case.
You can never use to little NaOH.

Thank you for the response and keeping me on track! I did the cyb's hybrid (stb) with salt. I used 110 mL naphta for 25g, my jar was wide and couldn't syringe it. In dish the solution wasn't cloudy but after 30min freezing white spots started showing up (I had too peek), i'll reuse the naphta for next pulls and probably change the container and split the naphta.I'll look for a diamond drill for "the machine" or does someone know another way? Last post was SWIM'S first post ever and he won't use SWIM anymore.

A jar with a slimmer neck makes it easier to draw off the solvent, and you can also collect naphtha with basic soup in it, and put it in a drinking glass or shot glass, whatever's slim and tall, and then let it settle again and pipette it off.

A glass bit is about $10 or so, but you can use a regular drill bit, you just have to go very slowly.
It takes forever either way. Too much pressure will crack the glass, even with the proper bit.

Evaporating your naphtha down to 50% or 25% of the original volume before freeze precipitating will saturate the naphtha more and ensure that it will precipitate in the freezer.
Have your freezer set as cold as it will go and leave it undisturbed for at least 24 hours.

I opened the fridge in the morning and saw white crystals with a little bit of yellow goo, it took me 2 hours to comprehend what I have. I'll post a picture soon of the 1st pull, more than i expected. I don't have a scale but really want to try some spice. I think i'll eyeball 10mg or less just threshold to see, i'm dieing of curiosity. I put the left over naphta in a new dish and in the fridge. More pulls coming
