*Waves* ... I've been gone for a minute. Nice to be back xD.

Someone was listening to Shpongle tonight. In their words:
I've taken a break from DMT for quite some time. The pure stuff anyway.
I have been toking on a messy Jungle/DMT extract (STB/Xylene) that's got totally different vibes but....
It just doesn't cut it.
I was listening to Shpongle today for the first time in a while and it just brought me this crazy level of peace.
The music itself is trippy enough but.. I also used to love listening to it while on the outskirts of hyperspace .. if not hyperspace itself. The music just hits my mind in such a crazy way. The feeling of peace I get is akin to that of the few hours after an enlightening DMT experience. I'm sure this won't last long. As each song plays, I can remember a "trip" tied to it... if not multiple trips, like when I've reused songs for multiple rides.

Just figured I'd bring it up. I'm kind of curious how many of you have experienced something like this.
Sometimes I wonder if the folks in Shpongle just smoked so much DMT that they knew how to make the music vibe or,
if it's the fact that this group was my prime choice for DMT trips. Smile . peace.

DMT + Shpongle yo xD

i am actually friends with the members of shpongle. they are truly cool guys. about 3 months ago i had one of the members at my house with a mutual friend and we were discussing the spice. i can tell you this much without incriminating anyone: they have "heard" of DMT. and, as can be deduced by listening to their awesome music, they "hear" very well.... Pleased

that being said, i will back you up with your assessment of Shpongle being EXCELLENT journeying music. for me, however, i find it can be a little distracting at this point in my spicework. my first ever breakthrough was to a tune shared with me by my brother-in-arms Uncle Knucles....Yungchen Llamo's "Happiness is". every time i hear that tune to this day i get a mild, woozy, about to break through feeling....it's just SO beautiful...

nice post Tropane- good to be back and see your name in the postings... ;D

definitely love shpongle music...first breakthrough was to divine moments of truth...after listening to the album for 3 months and then finally deciding it was time for trying dmt...SWIM came to the nexus and lurked for awhile figured out how to do it..and BAM...then 14 months later he made me make this account

but anyway...

got to see shpongle and hear one of their new songs...had taken lsd, mescaline, and some datura s. seeds...then when they came on and played their music...he smoked a nice changa joint with his friends...shpongle music is something else
it's a sound

That would be the answer.

Always loved shpongle and posford's stuff in general, in fact my first experience with acid was listening to his first album and then my first experience with tryptamines was to the sounds of shpongle. Great music full stop, but also perfect for altered states.

Completely gestunkenflupt!

Very happy

yeah, definitely-this music can bring on these states of consciousness. got to see simon's shpongle dj set while floating in a river@ eclipse music fest in quebec. and his daybreak set as hallucinogen was un-englishable. all i can say, if u like the recorded music, seeing them at a psytrance festival (preferably open-air) will blow ur mind.
unrelated, but music that open the same gates for me: Zuvuya -with spoken word by t. mckennaSmile

SWIM has been listening to this type of music constantly lately. Ever since he made the goal of trying psychedelics and learning from them. Shpongle immediately captured his interest, it helps him study and sleep. He doesn't listen to it while flying however...He prefers total silence, outside influences seem to confuse him in a strange way.

This is classical music that in many ways resembles shpongle, although some people will disagree with me on that. It has the same structure of ever repeating rhytmical patterns existing of short melodic structures. The constant pulsating rhytm's drive slow a harmonic progression.
It's the only classical music i know that could in it's structure compare to modern electronic dance music.
I find it very psychedelic.

SWIM had his first experience with DMT and Shpongle. He didn't know that it can fit so well. Especially the more ambient stuff seems to be amazing. Now he begins to understand Shpongle! He always thought them to be awesome in a way, but you can only fully comprehend if you've listend to them while on.
