STB tek, pulling with xylene
However, i did not use xylene, i accidentally grabbed the acetone container. Can I save my bark?

You should probably be able to evap the acetone off, though I've heard about bad things happening with acetone and strong bases, so at the very least, heat shouldn't be used and it should be done outside. Lord knows what if any effect it will have on the spice.

was the dmt converted into any other form? Will I be able to evap acetone and do xylene pulls? I would like to then evap the xylene but I was considering going for the FASA method.

I believe it is still in freebase form but I was not sure if it was converted to DMT Acetate.
Yes, my solution is 800g NaOH 800g MHRB 12L h2o ~2L Acetone

Hmm... have you tried just adding xylene and doing a pull anyway?
Worst case scenario is, it was a little waste of time and you haven't lost anything. But I'm guessing a 12L water + 2L acetone isn't as attractive to DMT as good old xylene. Also as acetone is more attracted to water than xylene, given a choice between the two, all the acetone will stay in the water.
I seperate acetone and xylene by shaking it up in water so the xylene floats on the top and the acetone goes down below.

Did the acetone separate from the water? Once water is heavily loaded with ions acetone is no longer miscible. If you have a layer of acetone on top of your water you should decant it and evaporate or FASA, as it will contain dmt. Otherwise I would pour in pure rock salt until the two liquid phases separate. The reason is acetone is miscible in BOTH water and Xylene and so trying to pull Xylene from acetone water will probably give you a lot of aqueous contaminants, and in the worst case they may not even separate!
Also acetone does not convert dmt into dmt acetate, acetic acid (vinegar) does.

Super bump! I discovered this thread through a google search.
This guy I knew did the same thing, except during a mesc (torch) extraction, luckily not with the whole batch. Separating the stuff that had acetone in it into seperate jars, he added a little water to hold onto the acetone while the xylene rose to top, thinking that would work. It appeared to, as there were three distinct layers (basified cactus sediment, an aqueous layer (water + acetone?), and an oily layer (xylene?)).
Would the free mesc go to the xylene layer?
