ya, you remember'd meh as slaughter'n the name of the all holy spice in the intro(apoligees), but back with a question, got this mimosa looking tree growing around here, it looks alot like hostilis, but everybody says that it dosent grow here (southeast kentucky, redneck land).

looked at wiki and USDA and the only mimosa it had listed as living anywhere near here didnt look a thing like what lives around. what lives around here is a fast growing tree with leaves identical to the hostilis, yet sheds the leaves in wintertime (now).

cant remember how the flower looked (cant remember if it was pink buds or yellow long ones) seed pod was long, brown (like long snow pea pods)

seeds themselves were brown, single shade throughout, reminesant of apple seed or darker sunflower kernels.

no thorns present

most trees are about 10 feet tall (~3 meters?) give or take a few feet

any assistance?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Can you post some picture of this tree for better identification?

You're in Kentucky. That tree is going to have pink "fuzzy" looking flowers later this year. There is just the pink flower false mimosa and the Illinois bundle flower I've seen them plenty in KY. I'm in Missouri now, but I've been plenty in KY. They both grow throughout both MO and KY alike but the only one of any value is going to be the bundle flower. They have similar leaves but the bundle flower is smaller and really isn't a tree so much as a weed. If you get a whole field of bundle flower you might have a treasure trove.
