So I have already depleted my bark with naphtha. And have done 2 pulls with toluene.

After pulling the toluene off I noticed an orange film sitting on top of the solution. This is my second extraction using Toluene and did not notice it the first time. Every naphtha pull remained the solution black.

My guess is that it's oils and fats that the toluene pulled from the plant matter but didn't pull it into the NPS so its just resting on top of the solution.

Thanks for your help and advice!

I know this is a very simple question but its very concerning to me.

Has any one else experienced this with xylene or d limonene?

The msds on the toluene I picked up is 100% toluene

That's a bit of emulsion, it looks orange from the colour of the base soup being lightened by the light diffusion from the emulsion particles.

β€œThere is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
