I've been trying out the supplement L-Tryptophan as a "nootropic" approach in my daily life, and I'm curious as to whether or not taking it the same day as a DMT experience will have any adverse effects (serotonin syndrome, etc). The dosage of L-Tryptophan is 500mg in the morning, once per day. Can anyone with a vocation for this domain give input? Thank you!
my loopy guess is that t. mckenna is off hopping about hyperspace wielding a butterfly net analog, all the while collecting the most peculiar.

The combination with dmt is not dangerous AFAIK. The potential for bad interactions is in the combination with maoi's and rima's, such as harmala alkaloids from rue or caapi.

If you are only smoalking dmt and not at the same time using maoi's or rima's, relax and go ahead. If you are using maoi's or rima's, you should be very careful and research the combination before ingesting.

Here are some pointers:

Theoretically, since you will be producing moar serotonin, it could dull the effects of the DMT in a manner similar to what happens with SSRI's. I don't expect it would do so as intensely or noticeably though.

And yeah just to echo pitubo, don't mix it with harmalas/maoi's

I find that the use of serotonin precursors like L-tryptophan or 5-HTP have little or no effect on psychedelics or MAOIs as they are simply the building blocks for serotonin and the body has a fairly good regulation for production. Long term use in conjunction with pharmaceautical MAOIs is another story and quit possibly would be dangerous.
