How do you prepare mentally and physically for multi day Ayahuasca ceremony sessions?

In the past, I had signed up for a multiday session in Peru and by the 4th night I was just "worn" to continue.

I think I fasted too much and because of the intensity of my experiences I had a really difficult time sleeping in between, I had been given a gift and I had to understand what it meant. I will say that in this state over many days it did feel like I was returning "to where I left off" rather than having a "different experience".

However, each day I could feel my body getting weaker and weaker, every time I wanted to sleep the conversations I had in my head replayed over and over.

Soo... I have a 2 day'er coming up.

Thoughts on how to prepare for this? Any really good foods for energy that are good on the MAO diet?

I signed up for both and have been second guessing my choices for a few days now. I can meditate without a problem and plan on getting "way more sleep that I need to" ahead of the ceremony.

Is there anything that you do to help you prepare? Is there any way (non medication) way that you can trick an excited mind into sleeping throughout the daylight hours? Most depressants are dangerous and cannibas is banned 7 days before and 3 after "So you continue to heal from one spirit and she isn't interfered with".

I just don't want to be in the head space where I was last time, dreading the next days redose. (Not because I don't want to, but because my body is just too dern tired).

Note I work out a lot.

Thank you in advance! So far I like a hearty vegetable soup broth, but it also didn't seem to mix well as during my purges it seemed like (what came out) was very acidic.

I use binaural beats with white noise. Eye shades to block light. Use Melatonin it should help you sleep.
I used this on my 10 day aya retreat in Colombia in between ceremonies and it worked.
Sleeping was not a problem for me. My stomach was a problem it took at least 4 days for my stomach to calm down.
fasting all day before a ceremony was hard I would get hungry right when it was time to drink and it made me more sick.
I finally drank hot tea and ate a few crackers before ceremony and it helped alot.
good luck

Thank you, those are all great idea's.

I was pumping Watts "This is you" audible book the entire time with eye shades, but the thoughts still were too overwhelming.

It was like I was at the end of a lifetime journey and I finally had peace, not just of mind. But I had let go of everything, not just my pain and all that remained was love for all.

All I could think about was telling my father how proud I was to be his son, and how I would have never been the man I was without him.

Now that all of that has passed and I have the relationships that I want with the ones I love, I really hope those "urges to share the love that I found" are bypassed and I can just "be" after my next sessions.

I did the same with food, I fasted too much the week before, and I was just too hungry before the first ceremony so I scarfed down a turkey sandwich.

Ouro turned me on to Bi-aural almost a year ago, though I haven't revisited it at all. If you have any "that are better than others" please share I would be ever appreciative.

Thank you Felnik for your kind and well thought out response.
