So I've been working on my first extract using vovin's Tek. I ended up using double what the Tek called for and I should have followed it exactly but I have yet to find out the results.
Anyways I did the deffatting step with naptha and ended up with about 500ml of clear naptha presumably with some impurities in it. I was wondering if it would be worth it to try and distill the naptha to keep losses and cost down as far as the naptha is concerned. I have a small distillation setup and a small fractional column if needed.

If you know what you're doing, why not? You can even make light and heavy fractions. Pull with the heavy stuff for freeze precip (assuming low aromatics content); recrystallise with the light stuff.

Just don't ruin a good potable alcohol still with naphtha Big grin

β€œThere is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
