So after SWIM has used a STB tek and done all the naptha pulls out of a basified solution with 200 gms mimosa, how much "jungle spice" could SWIM conceivably get from a xylene extraction?

From what PerPLexEd understands...there is around 1% jungle spice and 1% spice...he plans on doing 4 pulls naptha, 4 pulls xylene, and will post the results out of 1.7kg mimosa :]

One more ? for you fine folks........... Can someone explain (or shoot a link) on the process of redissolving the jungle spice in non-denatured alcohol to get rid of any lingering xylene? Is there anything more than just soaking it in the alcohol and pouring it back through a coffee filter to re-evaporate? Also, how much alcohol would SWIM need to use say per gm. of jungle?

Thanks-shmoof (a figment of my fractured imagination)

Thats about all there is to it, use a minimal amount of solvent to dissolve whatever SWIM wants to dissolve and then evaporate said solvent to receive nearly pure product. It helps to heat the solvent first and mix well with mechanical agitation, then while solvent is still hot, pour it off, filter it if SWIM need to. If SWIM is really paranoid, do 2 solvent pulls just to be sure to get most of the alkaloids. Combine solvent in small evap tray (SWIM likes to tilt his evap trays to get all solvent on one side.) and evap.

All spice is HIGHLY SOLUBLE in ethanol. Swim has cleaned many jars with less then 500mL of pure HOT ethanol and evap'ed into grams of spice. So in short, not much.

So that means isopropyl would work too, right?
