Dear Nexians, Namaste

I would appreciate some of the better read book worm members to do a little more reading and research and commentary of this bit I ran across.

Heres the Jist of it there are several PHD dissertations on the fact that in 1523 that the Spainards whom had subjugated the Central Mexican Aztec indians decided to ban the addition of the plant Acacia Angustissima to Pulque or Mexican beer from the Tequila Agave plant.

One may Google "1523 Pulque"

From what I gather it somehow induced uprising, rebellion and murders (SELF DEFENSE!) of the Spainards whom I believed had made their unwanted intrusion around 1517-1519.

My desires by the ultra curious is as to info on:

1) what were the alkaloids present?

2) how was the Admixture prepared, added or mixed into the Pulque?

3) What were its exact effects?

4) Does it contain its own MAOI or are its alkaloids able to pass the blood brain barrier?

Lets deal in facts not inane hypothesis in your responses please!

I am aware that Dr.Trout AKA Pachanoi has had dealings with similar plants but I do not know of his health or availability to comment, ( Trout's Notes Author Member Keeper Trout ) as he would certainly be the expert on this!

My interest is especially peaked by learning that in addition to Arundo Donax, Desmanthus Leptolobus it is a 3rd active local plant in Texas.

Apparently the US Department of Agriculture has a research station at Smithville Texas where they have collected and crossbred the approximately 9 Texas Regional Substrains into one super hybridized plant due to its very high protein content as cattle fodder.

Please help curiosity kill my cat!Drool

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Well I see you Nexians have already been there and have done 90% of that but still would like info on how I might gather and prepare and try my own batch of home brew.

Heres your thread that covers MOST! of my questions, titled:

North American Tryptamine Acacia (& 'Pulque'Pleased

I have read by Dr.Trout that some of these smalller stringy rooted acacias can be peeled (looking much like a carrots) by placing on a hard flat table top and using a rolling pin to flatten them to enable easy peeling.

I would love any info on preparing the plant and would take hypothesis on this!

If you have actual aztec or other indian preperation methods I would be all over that entirely!

Glug Glug!

I refuse to drink the regular Mexican preperation, I keep running into that leaves them on the ground barfing looking like they are dying.

They skinny up some kind of palm tree and get these small palm fruits about a half inch in diameter, cram an old 2 liter or bigger soda bottle full add sugar and water wait only a few days.

What it does to them does not look pretty what so ever!
