I've been a practicing psychonaut since I was a teenager. I've gotten a lot more concerned with overcoming the recklessness and lack of information behind my amateur explorations as a youth, which is part of why I wanted to join this forum. Accurate drug information is valuable in our society of harmful prohibition and propaganda.

Currently, I spend a decent amount of time engaged in scholarly research on the history, pharmacology and chemistry of mind altering substances. More than anything, I'm interested in the psycho-spiritual value of plant medicines and they represent a center point for many of my other interests, higher education and aspirations- music, psychology, mysticism, sexuality, healing/therapy.

Outside of my studies of spirituality and mind-altering substances, things that are important to me include personal creativity and the catharsis of art, deepening my relationship with nature, understanding my sexuality beyond the wounds and hangups of society, seeing things from as many new perspectives as possible and becoming a better, more beneficial member of society without sacrificing my individuality to harmful 'norms'.

Welcome,

I couldn't agree with you more. Accurate during information is very important, and the prohibition of "drugs" is very harmful.

It drives me crazy that all substances are lumped into the category of "drugs." This would imply that meth and DMT are pretty much the same: bad for you and to be avoided. I meet so many people who I know would benefit from psychedelics, but society and government has painted them as harmful. I have a sneaky suspicion that the lawmakers know that if psychedelics became totally mainstream, capitalism would grind to a halt. Hence, psychedelics are illegal, while caffeine, nicotine, antidepressants, opiate pain killers, and alcohol are available everywhere.

Sorry to rant. Welcome to the nexus. I'm sure you'll find many smart, friendly people here to interact with.

Peace

-shakes fist- Ya damn capitalism! Get off my lawn! Hahah seriously though- I can't think about how many difficult/existential trips I've had that have explicitly revolved around either the destruction to the natural world, encouraged by capitalism or the Hell of poverty/wage slavery.

Let's hope these medicines can do their work.
