Hello, forgive me if this is the wrong board but as a new member I cannot yet post in the specific extraction sections so I was hoping to get an answer here as this is somewhat time-sensitive.

Has anyone ever experienced a small piece of the root bark trapped in the solvent layer? The bark was shredded/powdered as much as possible, but there were still some finer strands of the bark that went into the water/lye mix. However after adding the solvent (in this instance, heptane) there was a small strand just floating, trapped in the solvent layer. Is this a potential issue? I've done some searching but have been unable to find any topics discussing this. During the separation there was not any lye/water mix that got into the pulls, but I was curious if there was any issue with a small strand of the bark being stuck in the solvent.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some knowledge/advice.

EDIT: Bah just realized there is an FAQ sub-section of the Welcome Board. Looks like I cannot delete this post so a mod can feel free to either move the topic there or lock this one and I can re-post (if it's an issue)

i think what you see is called the "dark naphta" problem.
all that should be required is a cleanup and you should be fine
