Guys, help me please.>
I've been extracting DMT for a long time now but only recently I've had a problem regarding the naphtha..
After adding the solvent, I noticed that the solvent was not clear at all even after hours of waiting,.. When I pulled it, It was extremely dark and brown and refused to settle down anymore...
What could be the reason ?
Thanks!

Sounds a bit like you might have a persistent emulsion. Did you try salting or adding more base?

I've seen this happen when the base soup is too hot and also if not enough water present, ie. too much mimosa/lye for the volume of the extraction container.

I have also had my naphtha layer brown/purple only to let it set overnight with a lid on to stop evaporation and see that all the purple basic bark dust collected on the bottom.

The mixture of plant material, sodium hydroxide and water.

Mixing sodium hydroxide and water creates a lot of heat. When the dmt containing plant material is mixed with very hot concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, it may cause the naphtha to absorb other compounds that are released by the plant material.

BTW, your original post is rather terse. You don't specify very accurately what your usual procedure is, you don't even mention what plant material you are using. How do you expect others to help to you when you're not helping us help you?
