Hey guys, Like the title says I need some advice. I have 250g of MHRB and I will be using Noman's tek. My question is what amount of bark you guys would recommend I use per extraction. I was going to do it all at once, but i think i would need 3750ml water alone. that's pretty much a gallon if i'm correct. If i'm going to do it this way what mixing container would you recommend I use? If you think I should do it in smaller amounts, what amount would you recommend? I appreciate your input, and hope i'm not wasting anyone's time with this question.

First extraction start with 50 grams, you don't want to blow your whole load if you have a slip and drop a vessel or make a mistake. Done successfully, that should give you at least around half a gram of alkaloid which is plenty to learn the ropes with.

Also be sure to never throw anything away till you have your final product, it's always recoverable... unless it ends up in the drain or on the floor.

Get yourself a box of 12 quart size canning jars. They are very versatile and cheap make shift beakers and usually come with lids that will stand up to most of the solvents and chemicals used in spice extraction (No xylene or MEK, but naphtha is perfectly fine). Always test your solvents out with the container before proceeding. You can literally do the whole extraction in the quart jars, but I like to do the re-x in wide mouth pint jars. The wide mouth is easier to scrape stuff out of and seems to pour off cold naphtha much cleaner.
