hi,
one day after taking DMT, i felt like I was in the body of someone else. I was so fed up with some of my thoughts, that I started dissociating with them. I think that triggered me being in another body.
I have done this experience many times after that, maybe 20 or 30, with DMT and with mushrooms.
Has anybody experienced something like this before?

Well, either i need to rewrite everything, or it doesn't ring a bell to anybody...
Has anybody read my stuff?

I honestly tried to read it, but your writing style is not very concise and it was impossible for me to commit to ploughing through the entirety of it when your initial points, as I understand them, are quite generic.

I don't do DMT, but I do lucid dreaming. I've been on the body of other people or animals a number of times. I could look in the mirror and see someone else in there (and it felt that it was another person too, and I was there experiencing that kinda on autopilot). For the times that I did feel like myself, the mirror would just show myself.
And btw, about mirrors: I know that they say that you should not look into mirrors when on a trip or lucid dreaming, because it can turn ugly. For years it turned weird/ugly for me too, until one time I told the mirror pretty much to stop screwing with me. Since then, it just shows me proper images every time I look at it.
The most alienating of all was when I got inside the body of a snake. There was no thought. Just automatic reaction, and pure existence without much else.

cool handel,
so glad to hear somebody else speaking like that. I have this without psychedelics now, but dmt took me there the first time. I've been in animals body too, but never paid attention to mirrors.
Did you control it when you went in other bodies? did you decide it? or you just found yourself there without knowing why?

I got there automatically, and most of the time there wasn't much decision making on my own. It felt like I was on autopilot. Like, putting the consciousness in a pre-determined scenario, just to experience what it feels like to be on such a scenario.

Thanks you don't know what it means to me to read that. That is actually how I trained my compassion (or curiosity) since I was a child: I wondered what state of mind I would need to be in, in order to be like the person I was wondering about. The weird thing that happened to me with DMT was that all the peoples lives I was visiting were the people with who I did this above-mentioned mind play, or with who I did Reiki, or with who I had strong relationhips. I hope to find someone one day who will acknowledge this from his own experience.

This to me resonates with the common concept of being an "empath." You may find what you're looking for in terms of a common experience in empath forums.

Wow! I feel as though I just read my own words - I've done the same thing all my life and secretly felt I was the only one (oh, what ego!). If you apply this mindset to hound dogs (especially a beagle!) and how they must think, your sense of enjoyment of the small things in life can really multiply (at least it did for me). They just know how to live life to the fullest and enjoy the present moment in ways that I truly admire. It is weird though, how we look at other people and get the sense that they aren't as self-aware and self-conscious yet everyone is likely having the same thoughts you and I are discussing here on the bus, in the meeting, in lecture, at the grocery store... Isn't it fantastic?

Impressive redux!
I have often experienced other people's memories after smoking cannabis. People I don't know, and have never met and whose identity is unknown to me; e.g. I know what it was like to be some random old woman in a supermarket buying canned peas in the early 1980's, that sort of thing. It's generally a pleasurably wistful, hazy, kind of sepia toned experience.
A related phenomenon is to enjoy or otherwise experience something vicariously through another being. It's almost always dogs for me as I mostly hang out with my dogs when on mushrooms. Sometimes a bird or other wild creature.
