Was thinking to grow acuminata in hydro for fast grow but it is well known that the plant dont actually want to disturb its roots. So will this be a problem if i want to plant it in soil in future ?

Acacias seem to grow pretty fast when they're happy. I have no experience with a hydro grow, but I have repotted many acacias several times and haven't lost any to transplant shock. Maybe that would also translate to planting in soil later?

Yes, happy acuminatas have red on the top leaf tips. It's a deep pretty color, distinct from burn, which would look dry and brown.

Ok ty continuum. So everything is ok. Some leaves become quite deep red, that is why i was worrying about. Once i tried to grow them outdoors, i never saw something like that. I am intending to transplant them from hydro to soil, i will grow them indoors as long as they are small and sensitive, then, when they will grow enough, i will transplant them outside.

Why would you even bother wasting money on the electricity for such a thing. This isn't a marijuana plant, it is a tree. MJ takes 1-3 months wheres acacia trees take somewhere like 1-3 years.

Would be interesting as an experiment though if you got the extra cash for it Wink

Acacia need rhizobium bacteria so I'm not sure how you could give them that in a hydroponic set up.

Absolutely you can grow it in hydro and they love it!
I also did them in aero and they grow a lot faster than dirt.
Also when your ready to transfer to dirt they do well, I have a mimosa
as we speak growing in a aeroponic set up, but between acacia and mimosa
acacia grows twice as fast for some reason. I have a picture but I cant figure out how to post it on here. Anyway go for it it's a lot of fun and rewarding.

notsure attached the following image(s):

that's a happy sight, notsure..

naturally occurring rhyzobium would love aero

introducing rhyzobium can be done by taking small amounts of soil from around the roots of ground growing legumes..particularly when rhyzobial nodes are observed..but like sourdough cultures rhyzobium is naturally occurring in places that haven't been over sterilised or chemically affected..
as rhyzobium free the nitrogen from the air, to give to soil and plant, aeration is preferred by acacias..
