Sixteen days ago I did a MHRB extraction, 180 gram of powdered bark.

For the first time the seven glass jars with the naphtha containing the DMT were kept in the freezer for more dan two days, in fact sixteen days.

An hour ago I took the jars out of the freezer and dropped the naphtha with the frozen DMT crystals into a coffee filter. Every jar a new filter. When the coffee filters were dry I noticed to my surprise that there were almost none crystals left in the filters. This has never occurred before.

But nearly all the crystals stuck to the bottom of the jars. With a spatula I scratched them out.

Is this a coincidence? Of is it a fact that when freezing a much longer time all the DMT with end up at the bottom of the jar instead of โ€˜ floating around โ€™ ?

Precipitation always takes place by sticking to the bottom and sides of the dish, as far as I have ever seen anyway.

Coffee filter is redundant, and plus... wouldn't your DMT be sticking to the coffee filter a bit as well? and sixteen days is a ridiculous amount of time for precipitation. Most of it precipitates within 12-24 hours, that is if you did a pre-evap first like you are suppose to.

Thanks for your response.

Sixteen days in the freezer is of course not necessary. But due to other activities I was not able to take the jars out earlier for further treatment.

In all my extraction batches I have used coffee filters. When dried they contain a considerable amount of DMT. It simply drops off the filter when held upside down.

A quarter of the DMT I get in a batch comes by the result of the coffee filters. Except in this last one.
