wasnt sure where to post this. would surely like input from others. The subjects, we will call them monkeyA and monkeyB, often play party poker together on the internet. This gives us the use of a random, a card from a shuffled deck, that has symbolic meaning to the subjects. The subjects and their respective sitters are to be seated in separate rooms and self administer a pipe loaded with ~100mg of substance and smoke until they feel they will reach the midlevel experience. Prior to administration the researcher will show the subjects a random card from a shuffled deck and will tell them to think about their card and the card the other person might be holding. The researcher will record the cards shown to each subject. The sitters will be for the most part inert helping only with the coordination of the simultaneous entry and care of the subjects. After showing the respective subjects their cards, the researcher will move to the hall and announce the start of the entry and retire to a separate room. At 15 minutes the researcher will attempted to conduct the interviews. ** The use of music is commonly wanted during the experience. If music is to be used the sitters will simultaneously begin the playing of preagreed upon music in both of the subjects rooms. Both subjects have used the substance on several occasions so are familiar with the general effects as well as smoking techniques. ~100mg sounds like a lot, it is not meant to all be smoked just leaving a little leeway for the experiment. The smoking implements are dedicated to the substance so nothing will be waisted. The researcher is still deciding on the questions to ask in the course of the interviews. They will probably begin with "How are you feeling?". Then move on to, "Are you ready to talk about what happened?". Then ending with "What card do you think the other subject was sending you?". The researcher, knowing the cards, must be very careful not to lead the subject. This is why the use of prewritten questions would probably be beneficial. More researchers would be better, separate researchers for each subject for the presentation of the card, then another set of researchers to conduct the interview. Perhaps the respective sitters should present and record the card then leave the respective rooms when the major effects of the substance wear off, not speaking to the researcher, who would conduct the interviews blind? Many things are missing, but we guess such is the world of 'clandestine research', if that is a term. As mentioned more researchers would help, but since this is a closed, secret project probably not applicable. Soundproof rooms would probably also be helpful as sometimes one can loose track of the volume of their voice while basking in the excitement. Any thoughts?

Dr Charles Tart has done a lot of research on ESP and OBEs check out his many research papers on the net. He worked as a grad student with the late great Dr John Lilly in the late 60s and has been one of the major players in the Transpersonel psychology for the last 30 years. M.V.

Wow that is really well thought out. The use of playing cards is perfect, especially as the subjects play poker. Now a few thoughts: a) - Perhaps give the subjects alot of time (five minutes?) to "meditate" with the card they are given. Let this really sink into their mind, because during a DMT trip the effects could be so startling that the card is forgotten. b) - The point (in my opinion) of the experiment is to prove the existence of a "DMT-verse". Not to prove human telepathy. I only say this because if we look at the experiment in such a light, one can think more objectively about the nature of such an experiment: Consider two dots (representing brains) in two dimensions. Now consider two spheres around the dots (representing the DMT-verse experienced by the brains) using an extra dimension. Where those spheres intersect is where the hypothetical communication takes place. So given the "size" of the spheres, which may be (in my estimation) about three times the size of a human head, the "overlap" of the subjects "DMT-verses" should be within that proximity. I'm not clear about how far apart your subjects are from your description. Hopefully not in different rooms, because I predict that will fail. Their "DMT-verses" must overlap, which could be two people laying down so that their minds are near each other. Maybe down the road people will be able to communicate over larger distances once more is learned about navigating the DMT-verse. c) - It may take numerous times for the subjects to make a connection, if it is even possible. There may be other factors we are missing that will lead to failure. I wish you all the best of luck with this experiment, in whatever manner you choose to carry it out. Please report back to us with the results! Smile

Hey Lucious

got questions

what lead you to this particular line of research, as opposed to any other dmt related experiment?
where does the brain theory come from?
Onwards and upwards

I still very much plan to try this experiment, but things have been a bit chaotic lately so we havent had the quiet to to it.

yeah, the time to reflect on their card would probably help. I wanted to limit the contact the subjects had with eachother in case the mumbled or whatnot when they were in, but we will probably try several setups including with the subjects heads near eachother.

Basically pattern submitted this question to be asked of ralph metzner and it sounded like something that could be done with minimal equipment.

brain theory?

I'd also like to try this experiment. Even if direct communication is not possible, maybe some kind of shared experience is possible? That would be cool. The evidence would be highly subjective in comparison to communication though. It would be that kind of evidence that would really only convince those who experienced it.
