What can we, as members of the Nexus, do about the rampant misinformation spewed by the media and entertainment?

All we can do, is share our knowledge with those people who surround us.

More importantly i ask myself: How do we handle the misinformation of our fellow friends? Changa has become very very popular... which is, actually a great thing. As i believe, that every person on this planet should have access to DMT.

But the biggest problem i see, is in the "simplification" of your beloved spirit molecule. People are travelling around, going to festivals, experience changa and believe, that they are the most enlightened person on this planet.

How can we, honestly and directly, but without sounding arrogant, inform those?

That's the point which i would ask myself.
There is more than we can see with our eyes open

We think we cannot win 'this' battle.....now that every ignorant person has their own misinformation media outlet and they cluster in social media. The actual 'former media' respond to it with manic sensationalism. Good information will appear as 'buried' or obscured (for many people). There is no easy fix for that.

Gather the (good) information you can, try remain cheerful & calm and survive this episode, if need be, get off the grid until the enemy self-destructs.

anyways...

I like to believe a proper dose sets the record straight without words needed. But then again I found this system to be not waterproof. I failed in discovering an "agenda" that rectifies all.

More of the opposite actually: effectively dosed is more like it all doesn't matter really, while I feel sorry for this when I'm back in my sober life form. Another paradox to embrace.
Yet I do bring some of that "doesn't matter actually" back with me in my regular life, this has seemed to relieve of a lot of urges that used to control me strongly before.

It led me to detach more easily of expectations and want-want-want. Also concerning other people, what they think and are loaded with, how I would like to steer the world situation etc etc, this all lessened in amplitude. It's still there but dimmed, it's still intentionally there. Lo and behold I find more effectiveness this way than when I tried to force a change in the world manu militari.

It makes me feel a bit a self fulfilling prophesy dude with a bunch of self delusion but I cant ignore it either, especially the synchronicity facts, indicators, etc, and the unknown knowledge that stuff is connected under the usual radar field.

That said, to change people, I consider them part of the bigger 'me' and aim to change the bigger 'me' rather than change/convince a separate unit.

To grow a seed, sometimes it's good to un-focus from the seed itself and use some attention to the soil, the hummus, the watering, the lighting, the temperature,...
I've found people to react to the tuning vibe that surrounds them and on this plain, one can do a masterpiece. At times people are able to convince themselves and only needs some red carped for this to happen.

Strict frontal approach works too sometimes no doubt, and I do that when called for, but I've got a hang of re-programming peoples BIOS while they are often unaware, and since it is love at work, they seem to like it, and me Big grin

Love

The media can misinform all they want -- frankly I find our dear T McKenna (God bless him) as a spigot of misinformation. But once you actually put the changa in the bonga, no amount of disinformation will hold a featherweight of credibility.

You are already doing it by taking part in a forum that encourages science based facts, critical thinking, research and health and safety.

Laughing ....we had to look up what spigot means:

From Middle English spigot ‎(“wooden stopper”) Probably ultimately from Latin spīca via Old Provençal espiga and one or more dialects of Old French

The Magic is too many things to too many people to be able to give correct infomation about it, information beyond safe practice its a pointless task.

i disagree with at least half of what you good people say about the Magic, does that make me right and you wrong? of course not, it just means that what it means to me isnt what it means to you. someone mentioned McKenna, and while i find him extremely interesting and entertaining there is little he has to say about the experience that i agree with, yet you hear a nonstop tirade about machine elves, and the nonsense strassman pumped out is close to embarrassing, but the ideas of both seem to have become gospel to alot of people.

safe practice and a respect for the experience is all i hope to pass on to the people whose worlds i help melt, i think thats all we can do.

You can write texts that disprove misinformation in the comment section of articles, as well as email editors about it. That isn't always successful but in some cases yes.

Then as said before, inform those around you. And contribute to the Nexus is good too Smile

I think it takes it's time but with the internet I feel misinformation will be gradually pushed out of the equation, it becomes way harder to lie when google will prove you wrong in 10 seconds.

I don't know if that is true. There's so much misinformation on the web as well.
Nowadays, the internet is becoming, or has become even, a whole bunch of separate worlds where like-minded people join. Shielded off from the rest of the world.

Look at how many people believe in the wackiest conspiracy theories. If google proves you wrong, nowadays the standard response is to belief that google is in on the great conspiracy as well. Especially when it's about DMT. You know: "hitler took the DMT, stalin took the DMT, mao took the DMT, the D, the D, the DMT"Twisted Evil

And for all the wacko's out there: yes it's true people: we're from the planet nibiru and we eat babies..go tell everyone.

You may be right.. But it could also be the two parallel processes happening: Some people hiding in their fringe groups even more than ever, while another section of the population is getting more informed overall. Its hard to judge and know what's really going on statistics-wise but from my interactions with people in daily life outside the internet, I feel people in general are way more informed about things than they were, say, 15 years ago.
