Terence Mckenna gave Tibetan Buddhist monks DMT and they confirmed that it brought them to a similar "bardo" state, or immaterial realm that we fall into between reincarnations.

This really hit me hard because when i took 40-50mg of pure spice i was in this realm and for some reason i knew that i was here just before i was born and i was dancing and signing and communicating in a telepathic-like way, exchanging knowledge in sacred geometry with all these happy beings and i knew them like they were my own family and we were exchanging information and flowing like waves of energy in and through each other and then i woke up.

This place felt more home to me than anywhere else. Thoughts?

Alot of the time that's how it feels to me - most of what you said.

The thing that strikes me about the overall experience is that every time i'm there, above all, it feels like a 'place' [occcasionally inhabited]. And the feeling of having been there prior is always strong. So alien[otherwordly] yet so familiar.

Dude i also have a feeling i was there before i was born. I have a feeling that its a place between the physical realm and the afterlife. people that have near death experiences see things like a tunnel made out of light which kind of sounds like a DMT trip.

Also to add, this 'place' feels like it's an inalienable part of me, all at the same time, so it feels simultaneously Self/place. Ancient, outside of time, sacred, moving.

Yeah guys it feels like we've always been there and we just wake up like we wake up from a dream once we hit the spice. A more original state of existence and when i'm talking it feels like its not really me talking but a more ancient/wiser, more intelligent form of me, almost feels like I'm a god(in a sence).

Yeah indeed it feels like we become one with everything and understand everything.

I read somewhere else that a another monk who tried it said it was one of the "lowest" levels of bardo or some other name. Does that mean these deep meditating monks can go even further than DMT levels.

That's crazy but i guess with years and years of deep meditation especially in dark caves these things are expected to come naturally. I honestly believe these substances wouldn't work if we couldn't access these planes of existence naturally ourselves.


I think Alan Watts put it succinctly when he said:

"Psychedelic experience is only a glimpse of genuine mystical insight, but a glimpse which can be matured and deepened by the various ways of meditation in which drugs are no longer necessary or useful. If you get the message, hang up the phone. For psychedelic drugs are simply instruments, like microscopes, telescopes, and telephones. The biologist does not sit with eye permanently glued to the microscope, he goes away and works on what he has seen..."

I have also had experiences where infantile energy/emotions/feelings are strong and present. It's like that feeling you get from holding a newborn, only it's like bathing in it. Soft pastel colored energy can be at play, not to mention the presence of lullaby music. All of these perceptions instill the sense of pure adorableness. I would not be surprised if these spaces are active during embryonic development, perhaps as a means of comforting (and possibly teaching) the fetus.
