So I've laid off spice for about 2 months now. Last time I smoked I got a lockout scenario. Since then I've developed an anxiety for smoking dmt. Not sure why because the lockout wasn't that scary except that I wasn't sure why it was happening when it happened. But now I have some ideas as to what I had been doing wrong. Has anyone else developed preflight anxiety with Dmitri? Or has anyone have any good ideas to ward the anxiety? Like a pretreatment of benzos. I plan on eating 2.5 gs of p. Cubensis mushrooms tomorrow because I believe during the trip. I'll be able to focus and understand and eliminate those feelings of anxiety to reconnect with dmt post shroom trip. Anyone else have advice or better ideas? It's also worth noting that before trying dmt (I've smoked it about 30 times I'd say) I had only tripped 3 times before (nbome, a psilocybin chocolate and one 2 tines with lsd but it may have been DOX) so my mentality is that if I take a trip and try to learn from it the experience will help me reconnect with hyperspace. Any advice is appreciated

Wow, have you never had the pre-flight nerves?!

It was only in the last months of my time with DMT that they faded (And interestingly seemed to coincide with the beginning of being told to stay away). I would not try to dissipate them with other drugs, but see it has a symbol of your profound respect. Feeling your heart hammering, hands shaking before and during smoalking makes it all the more meaningful.

It never seemed to affect the experience, but was a barrier that said "You really need to want to go before doing this".

I have myself been off the spice for some months now. And I feel them back even whilst writing this imagining taking DMT, I wonder if it is indicative of how useful a trip would be - Bigger nerves, more benefit....
I speak as if it were fact, but indeed this is just the insane ramblings of my ego - but my inner self seems to be nodding.

I've had preflight anxiety but it was not nearly anything like this. This keeps me from even loading my bubbler. Have you retired from dmt? You said "your last months"?

Try an LSDMT combo. This can help. Your mind is primed and ready to go.

Focus on intent and challenging that which you fear. Focus on what you are sacred of and face it head on. Go into your fear. It will change into something else. Have confidence in yourself and know that you will be fine. When it is the most challenging is when you are learning the most. Focus. Intent.

The ego can be quieted. The ego is like a scared little kid. Comfort that kid. Go with the child into the darkness. Show the child that there are no monsters under the bed. Offer yourself this and you may be surprised at the courage that rushes in.

I have had pre-flight jitters and now when I am ready I am actually excited to go. I plan it now like going on a trip. When I had pre-flight anxiety I would always feel that fear disappear the moment I took a that final step and inhaled the first hit. It feels so good to push past a fear. Psychedelics are self-regulating. If you feel you need a break then take one. Nothing wrong with that.

There are a few threads on the nexus about fear and pre-flight anxiety. Use the search tab and you will find so interesting threads. Good luck to you!

Thanks man that's great advice. I think my 2 month abstinence is more than adequate for overcoming The lockout scenario.
