I left my "grass" in the sun in the vehicle and it dried out and could turn to dust particle if I meshed it up. So I was wondering is it is better to dry out the "grass" or to immediately put in the freezer FRESH GRASS to loosen it up and to blend later? What way is the most effective?

Well if that's the case I would say get more fresh grass.
From my experience, I prefer the fresh stuff, just because I'm worried the enzymatic degradation of alkaloids will be too great and I'll have spent a whole day mixing goo and straw for nothing.

It's a little more work to use with the fresh stuff but I believe(from my experience) it pays off.
At least it's closure that the alkaloids haven't disappeared yet...

Dreamer042 posted a pdf of TLC tests they performed on Phalaris Arundinacea and the data suggested that there is no real difference between fresh and dried, or if you'll get a sufficient amount of DMT for that matter.

As far as alkaloid content goes I don't think it really matters.

I think it depends more on how you are going to be using the grass when it comes to fresh or dry material making a difference...

Were you planning an extract? Or a brew? Or were you simply going to use a wheatgrass juicer?

*this is fairly old*
The latest info from Jim DeKorne's The Entheogen Review is that one can avoid chemical extraction altogether, and use a wheatgrass juicer. DeKorne warns readers to exercise caution when using extracts from Phalaris until more is known about it, but here is a transcript:
"The latest scoop is that you don't even have to use chemical extractions anymore - run several handfuls of grass through a wheatgrass juicer (sold in most health food stores) and you'll wind up with a glass or so of incredibly potent liquid. One teaspoon (with MAO inhibition, of course), is a standard dose with strong grass. Only two teaspoons proved very challenging to one of my correspondents - an OD! The juice can be dried and smoked in a bong - two tokes will usually do it." http://bluezoo.org/tryptamines/ayahuasca.html
