I've primarily smoked dmt by myself over the years, aside from happenstance with a few friends and my ex.

Do you trust yourself? I mean, you mentioned dropping the pipe and possibly causing a fire, that should mostly be preventable. Simple precautions before blasting off can go a long way.

I have done about one hundred attempts to smoke DMT. Many failures and shut outs, but also very profound trips.

Never has it occurred that I was ‘gone’ before being able to put my pipe down and seeing the lighter being out. There is time between finishing the inhaling and being blown away, even that one time I was sucked away in the deepest experience so far.

Don't let the fear prevail. And for your own piece of mind, put the pipe and lighter down on an fireproof table.

I pretty much purely travel solo. 20mg is not a massive dose, with all the usual disclaimers I think you'll be fine.

Just to add the only way I won't fly solo is when I smoalk freeBase from a dabbing rig. It is pretty rapid and all that burning hot titanium makes me a little nervous.

I don't smoke freebase hardly ever anymore as I prefer the changa in the bonga route. This method allows me to take my dose all in one hit and set the bong down carefully before being blasted into oblivion. I like this method because I don't have to fiddle with lighters or allow myself time to chicken out somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd hit. Of course, this method isn't for everyone!

As for going into it alone or with a sitter, I think both have benefits. For me it depends on how I feel that day. My GF will always sit for me if requested/needed but sometimes I feel like I have to go in alone, if that makes any sense...but like Tatt said, trust yourself and you should be fine. Good luck!

Changa in the bonga = no fuss. As Grateful said, it is an easier way of getting settled with lighter and bong put down before jetting off.

As for the sitter question - I too usually prefer flying solo. I get distracted quite easily when others are in the room, even if they are completely silent.

There's definitely the possibility that the experience can come on very quickly and not leave you much time. That's why it's nice to build up to the bigger dosages and work your way up, so you get a feel somewhat of how it can come on. Most experiences ime [[either big leather lunged 1-hitters or the 2-3 toke experiences]] leave enough time for you to sit the pipe down. It's rare ime that once I take a hit that it instantaneously comes on, usually it's several seconds. Setting matters a great bit ime, and taking the time to set things up accordingly and make it to where IF you are having trouble with the pipe, then you can quickly set it somewhere to where it won't present a fire hazard.

But cautioning by having a sitter there definitely won't hurt. If they know what they're doing they could help you for another hit, or help you with the pipe if it all becomes too much. Either way you can't go wrong ime.

Oh yeah! Changa in one hit. Very strong and rapid immersion into the void. And yeas, not for everyone. I always smoke freebase in one hit so I kinda used to it.
ps My very first dmt experience(also it was introduction to psychedelics in general) was in alone.

Spillproof pocket bubbler for the changa win! I sit in lotus put a pot holder in my lap and simply lower my hands to my lap and let it go there or just hold it. Just be sure to pick it up at the end before standing. I have had a coupla times that i was gone before the outbreath and the machine was there in my lap when i landed

My first breakthrough was changa in a bong and I was actually standing at the time. Still had time to put down the pipe and lay down before things got crazy. Oh, and I was alone. I've never smoalked with company in the room in fact.

When I first started I just tried threshold effects to get used to the feeling of it. This made me feel more comfortable when I upped the dose.

I get this feeling too.. Even if everyone is completely silent i can feel their vibes and thoughts flowing in and out of each other and it distracts my experience. I see vibes and thoughts on LSD too but not as powerful.
