Recently I was prescribed Bupropion(welbutrin) with is an NDRI. Unlike SSRIs, which affects Serotonin, this affects norepinephrine and dopamine transmitters. I have wanted to experience DMT for a bit, but freebase and extraction are not available to me currently. In my research I found that NDRIs should not be used with MAOIs. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bupropion) I've found nothing on RIMAs. I know the restrictions are a lot less with RIMAs. No RIMA research I've read says anything about avoiding NDRIs, just SSRIs. Though I have read that MAO-A deals with norepinephrine and dopamine as well as serotonin. I know the risk in SSRIs is serotonin "overdose," but I've failed to find anything about the other two chemicals causing issues.

That be said, Should I assume the same restrictions apply? I wanted to know if anyone has tried this or has found research in the dealings of NDRIs and RIMAs?

Thank you for any and all help.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I would steer clear of any MAOI while you have bupropion in your system.

A quick Google search brought up warnings about using bupropion within two weeks of cessation of the drug.

There is likely a warning on your prescription bottle. If you got an insert/pamphlet when the medication was proscribed there is probably a warning there as well.

There are MAOI warnings online, but no in the reading material. I was hoping the MAOI and RIMA differences would allow them. In essence RIMAs are just a type of MAOI, so I should have expected.

Thank you!

I've actually been wondering about something like this, but with Ritalin. I've looked up on it some and some people have successfully mixed Ritalin with Moclobemide without any issue apparently. But when it comes to Harmalas, there's also some COMT inhibition (i think from Harmaline) but idk how much it inhibits COMT and how Ritalin would do with it. I myself wouldn't mind perhaps trying it out someday, but i would definitely be careful and start low.

As for Wellbutrin, i'm not sure, but like i said, if you do try it out, be safe/cautious, maybe have someone around just in case. Also Harmalas inhibit some CYP liver enzymes, which may interact with and potentiate certain things, so be very careful.

I am definitely not going to try it. Too risky based on what I've read on Serotonin "overdose" effects. I will figure out something else. Best of luck with your endeavors!
