Not a San Pedro... I'm not quite sure what it is. I thought at first a Pilosocerues, then maybe a Toothpick Cactus. But I'm not sure. Browningia maybe?

I collected this little baby while at work, snapped off so I took her home to add to the collection.

Hey friendos,

Would anyone be able to help me identify this big old guy in my new backyard. I'm fairly certain it's a Cereus Peruvianus but I'm very vague with my cacti so really have no idea.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(even if it is a Cereus, would it be worth taking some cuttings to re-plant? The old guy defiantly looks on the latter half of his moon cycle, if you catch my drift.)

Looks like a Cereus of some sort (peruvianus has red flowers) Theres a lot of debate over what's what. They all produce pretty much the same fruit to my knowledge. Its tasty "Peruvian Apple"

that kinda looks like a tricho but it could also be a Myrtillocactus geometrizans. I cant really tell from your photo

Ulim, the cactus in the potted plant with the rocks looks like its molding from the bottom up. You should replant and try to salvage as much as possible before it is too late. It might already be too late.

They arent mine so i cant save them. They arent moldy just dried to a crisp.
i could only save the one i requested id of.
Im gonna take him anyways.

Not sure what you mean by straight but... looks to me it is the same as this cactus.

Hey MH, The first two are the hardware store cacti I mentioned elsewhere n another thread you said might be mislabeled brownings. The smallest had the stupid straw flower glued on, the large pairs to me seem like they might not all be the same. Still have my receipt for returns if they are not the real thing lol.
the third are kate clones which I am sure are legit Pachinoi and the last is a pair of peruvianus from another source I feel is legit.

One of those Pachanois you found at the hardware store looks like a rare clone called TPQC, though I'm not 100% sure. (2nd picture pot on the right, plant on the left.)

The peruvianus from kate generally are not peruvianus, usually cuzco. Yours I am unsure, but i lean towards them being real peruvianus from the color... Very beautiful blue. Very beautiful cacti in every picture, good job so far <3

Haha, nice I may have to check the sister stores now. Any thoughts on the tiny guy? T Macro? After you mentioned Browning I still suspect it may be. The Peruvs weren't a Kate strain. I will give them an honorable mention in the plants/seeds section.

Found some good stuff! The ones that look "broken off" are probably just the bottom where it "pupped" or budded from the main cactus. They should root just fine. Mine are still rooting fairly fast this late in the Season, but I'm in the Southern Plains U.S. Putting them under lights helps, but until their root systems are developed you don't want them right up under the light or they'll get burned. Once they're rooted trichs like LOTS of light, like an inch from the bulb.

I found what I believe to be some sort of trichocereus spec. growing on Lanzarote.

I was also able to collect some seeds!
