Hi,

I bought an arc torch lighter some days ago but it does not work well.
The flame turn on half a second and then goes out. I still hear the gaz escaping but no flame anyway even if put another flame near it.

i 've bleed the gaz tank and refill it with Near Zero Impurities butane.
Tried to adjust flame height but it's always the same.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Hello Sirtween, and welcome.
I am going to assume you are referring to the Turboflame Arc torch lighter.
I use this lighter with exceptional results.

How ever - due to the popularity of this quality product, manufacturers in China see this as on opportunity to build and sell cheap counterfeits of the product. I believe that you may have one of these knock offs.

It probably isn't economical to send it back and get a refund - unless they will refund shipping as well.
I would recommend checking these stockist to find a genuine lighter.

Hi and thanks for your answer.
My turboflame is the same as yours, i've bought it on the same website so i don't think it's a cheap copy.

Sorry if my english isn't perfect.

Ive had problems with the zico knock off lighters as well. However, on older posts about the subject, they are supposed to be of similar quality as long as you use ultra refined butane. Ill get one good sustained light off but misfires the next time i use try to use it. This is incredibly frusterating especially when it decides to stop working when your trying to take you breakthrough hit. I have a GVG but its been gathering dust on a shelf since i only seem to smoke changa these days for this very reason.

I never had luck with jet lighters. They are like a lottery. Some work perfectly some break in seconds. It took me 5 lighters to get one that works.
Its definetly a good idea to buy a non china one.

Also dont use butane in jet lighters. It doesnt work. Way to hard to ignite and not volatile enough. Its only good for normal lighters.

Use welding/jettorch gas instead. Its never pure butane but instead propane, n-butane and isobutane. This mix burns hotter, is more volatile so you get more "output" which is needed to keep the flame alive. And burns just as well without leaving traces. Its also actually made to be used in torches unlike butane even though most jet lighters state that they can be refilled with normal lighter butane.
They even come with the normal lighter output/recharge thing at the top.
If that doesnt work the lighter might be clogged.
I had that on my first few. The plastic inside got eaten by the impure butane which it was charged with by the manufactuer and then it clogged the tubing.
Never buy prefilled lighters. Also it is a good idea to buy ones made of clear plastic so you can see if there is anything floating around on the inside.

Hi thanks for the answer.

I'm a bit disappointed to spend 25$ for a lighter that doesn't work.

I will try jettorch gas.

Thanks
