How much did that extract end up weighing? It's nice to know that if the cactus rots like that it can still be extracted from.
Everything published by Gone-and-Back are the mad rantings and ravings of a mind who yearns to be free and thinks he knows what he is talking about. However, these are just delusions made to feel that freedom, because that freedom will never come. Any experiments done are purely figments of the imagination, and are falsified to the highest degree. Nothing should be taken seriously from a crazy mans mind.

Have not weighed it, under 1g I'm guessing.

The extract was a mess, it was work I was "forced" to do as my cactus turned to liquid, i was not planning on running an extract... however the outter skin and the top 18" were fairly undamaged... the extract was a lot of work that I was not planning on doing, but it turned out ok...

However, I'm not going past the total alkaloid step, at least not now...

Looking good!

I can't wait til my collection is that large. I'll have to update my growing thread with some new pictures. I'm pretty the pup that sprouted is going to be a four ribbed arm, like one of yours. From what I understand this is really rare, right?

If I may be personal - you have some nice plants but they are presented in a real crappy manner.

And why do you make such a huge fuss about their exact nomenclature when you don´t even bother to label them?

May I suggest a few things to an obvious beginner?

Decide on what type of pots you like, plastic, glazed, terracotta, and keep the style uniform. For a number of reasons I am moving to unglazed terracotta.

Rationalize your growing medium - these are mostly Mexican desert cacti and do best in an alkaline mix with a high content of limestone - in habitat many grow amongst huge chunks of the stuff.

The stuff you are using has a load of twigs and other organic rubbish in it - the trend nowadays is for a much more mineral mix with just a small amount of organic material - many use an addition of 10% or so of wormcasts.

And spruce up the appearance of your plants with a smart top dressing - looks nice and also gives self seeded sprouts a bit of shade.

And some neat printed labels with their Latin names make all the difference. Mine are aluminium based - plastic doesn´t last a season here.

This is the look I have been going for:

And join a more active forum with some members who know what they are talking about. Shroomery has more posts in a day than this place has in a year.
